Frances the Mute
I didn't really like this the first time I heard it, it's definitely a grower
(five
songs totaling 77 minutes?... yeah), but once it grows on you, oh man you'll
love it. There is just so much to it, and the song-writing skill that went into

De-Loused In The Comatorium
A little easier to get into then number one. Brilliant in it's own right. Very

Amputechture
I don't think people fully realize the brilliance of this album. Has a very
jazzy
feel, and it's the last album before Cedric started over-dubbing his vocals
like crazy. Tetragrammaton is an amazing piece of art, and there really isn't

The Bedlam In Goliath
There are three words to describe this album: bat-shit crazy. And while I
love it, it doesn't hold up as well as the first three. And it tends to drag a

Octahedron
While I really like this album, and it is by no means bad, I had to put it last
(of their full lengths), because after about ten listens through, I really had
no urge to listen to it anymore, I don't know why. Still a great album

11.01.09 | What's wrong with Frances beside too much ambiance? Yeah, you have to fast forward through quite a bit, but the music is a 4 at least.

11.01.09 | the very fact that theres so much pretentious noodling and ambient bullshit in the music is why i hate it so much. it's unnecessary. music that makes you fast forward through half of it is bullshit. and even when you get to the music it's nowhere near as good as the music on de loused so whats the point even picking it up.

3 has some of my favorite TMV songs, but the album itself is a little hit or miss by Mars Volta standards.
1 is classic, so is 2.
5 is actually one of my favorite TMV albums.
4 drags a little bit in the middle, but it has some insane moments. | chambered89
