08.23.08 | Joey actually has more to his drumming then speed. As far as metal drummers go, he's pretty tasteful and pretty good, but that one I can understand...he is kind of overrated.
Cliff Burton...I'm sorry man, no way. He played bass, bass was his thing, and he said he wanted to be the best bass player in the world. Just because he used guitar distortions and stuff like that doesn't make him a guitarist. There's different types of bass...not everyone's gotta slap or pluck to make them good. For what Metallica was, Cliff was the perfect bassist. His playing was gorgeous, it really was. (Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth is amazing. His use of distortions and wah...man. Just cause it was guitar stuff doesn't mean he wasn't a good bassist.

And I know not all people have to slap and pluck...like Death From Above 1979's bassist uses distortion and it fits perfectly. Maybe its just that everybody I know always harps on how metallica is the greatest band of all time and its just made me sort of sick of them |

Cliff Burton was good, perfect for Metallica, its just metal fans piss me off when they say he's the best bassist ever. And i swear i can never hear a bass solo in orion. its just a great riff with a few fills |
