SowingSeason 01.16.13	I actually haven't been too keen on the playlist idea anymore. The response dwindled with each new issue and it wasn't worth the effort anymore. Maybe I'll do one again for the first quarter of 2013, but either way a 4th quarter of 2012 issue is out the window.

They took the best parts of "Cities" and "Never Take Friendship Personally" and fused them into one grand magnum opus worth more than just one listen from any fan of rock music. you should probably change that soundoff

I only really listen to and rate albums I know I will like. Sometimes I might not like something as much as I thought I would, but thats kinda rare. I dont see what the issue is with having alot of 4s. I go through alot of bands I think are meh to get the ones I dig. My ratings are only a small part of my library though. They're just for fun mainly.

I don't think there's any issue with having more than a set number of 5s, but it should be reasonably proportional to the amount of ratings you have. I mean idk do you, definitely agree though that "lel this album is cool i should 5 it" isn't a great mentality

SowingSeason 01.17.13	I just realized my ratings will probably bring down all the staff averages from now on, because I'm going to be a stringent jackass who only gives 3's to albums that are truly above average.
Polyethylene 01.17.13	And I only have 300ish ratings because I only rate stuff I've listened to properly and have a formed opinion on (that can take weeks), I struggle to believe people that have 6000 have even heard all those albums all the way through

YankeeDudel 01.17.13	Sowing its sad that you only think five albums deserve over a 4. I find it hard to believe out of all the thousands and thousands of albums across so many genres you can only muster 5 albums. Maybe stop listening to indie pop for a while.
SowingSeason 01.17.13	I haven't finished rating everything...I know it's a little trimmed down at the top right now, but I want to end up with around 5 classics, 10 4.5'sm 20-25 4's and so on. I'm gonna rate stuff whatever I think it is though, and however it pans out I'll be cool with it.
YankeeDudel 01.17.13	Thats stupid though. Why do you wanna put some limit on your ratings. Just to make em all pretty? Like I said up top a person usually has to go through a lot of mediocre shit to get the bands/albums they like. So if you rate an album you like a 2.5, then what are all those other average albums? I guess everyone has their rating system but I rate based on comparing the album to all the music I have heard, not just my other ratings. I try to pick out what I think are the best albums and so by default that means they're probably going to get at least a 3.5. Cuz I just weeded through 20 other 2.5-3 bands to get to a couple 3.5-4 bands.
