Their magnum opus, plain and simple. It came so early in their career that it dwarfed all other releases...a classic.
Their most recent effort and one that I can honestly say is already having an impact on me. Has the energy of Paper Walls, the depth of Lights and Sounds, and the summer time feel of either Ocean Avenue or WYTTSY. This is the kind of album Yellowcard needs to keep making.
A blast of energy; a fun listen at any time that packs some of the best riffs and best drumming showcases in Yellowcard's discography. First and last tracks are the standouts, but there are plenty of gems in between.
When You're Through Thinking, Say Yes
An astounding return from hiatus, easily could have tied with Paper Walls (see above). Has a nostalgic feel, but also makes a conscious effort to push forward musically and lyrically. If you don't think 'With You Around' is one of the most contagious pop-punk songs of all time then you need to adjust your hearing. Blast it in the car with your windows down today and feel the results immediately.
Lights and Sounds
Darker, not as catchy or relatable as their "sunny" albums...'Lights and Sounds', 'City of Devils', 'Waiting Game', and 'Holly Wood Died' are all songs I still revisit with frequency though. The last 2 minutes of the latter is breathtaking and the lyrics to 'Waiting Game' are unbelievable.
One For The Kids
Excellent album that still has some of their best acoustic songs. It's a shame to put it this low, but the rest of their discography is simply better.
Gets points for the title.
Where We Stand
Just not the same band. Different vocalist, different approach, not for me.
new album = new ranked list
I completely agree, nice list
my best friend's cousin who he was really close with died in a car accident back in '05: "View From Heaven" has been one of my favorite songs ever since.
Fairly similar to what my rankings would be. I'd probs have WYTTSY higher.
3 and 4 are basically tied for what it's worth
Never listened to Yellowcard.
New album is my second to WYTTSY. Never really listened to Ocean Avenue, it's a bit before my time, have only heard the title track
cant get into 6 at all, and i'd actually rank lights and sounds in front of ocean avenue
Lights and sounds is their most mature sounding effort for sure
lol pop punk mature
Taking out the nostalgic significance of Ocean Ave, I'd probably put Southern Air at the top
yeah 1 and 2 are definitely the best
