This could definitely have included a wider variety of stuff, but I didn't go into this expecting people to take it as gospel. I was just making a list of what I feel are essentials for new users, and whose avg. rating/general reception backs it up

I mean this list is basically ear sex for me but that's more or less because I have the most "sputnik" taste in the history of the world. As a list aimed at telling people the essentials of a genre or style, this list fails pretty badly. And why oh why was it featured? I think this is pretty awesome list, there's only like 2 or 3 I haven't listened to. Props for Joanna Newsome btw. Need a list with The Smiths, The Pixies, Pavement, Grandaddy, Okkervil River, Circulatory System, Starflyer 59, The Olivia Tremor Control, Beirut, and My Bloody Valentine to mention a few on it. And maybe 1 other great album for a few of the already mentioned artists like Elliott Smith's Figure 8 or Mewithoutyou's Catch For Us The Foxes.
