Solid 2013 Albums

My favorite albums of 2013 so far
13 I want new
Tool!

!!!!
12 i want new
Gza!

!!!!
11Darkthrone
The Underground Resistance

Should be higher... forgot about this gem and just edited in. This is raw free-flowing metal. They didn't give a fuck and it worked. Favorite track: Dead Early
10mark lanegan & duke garwood
black pudding

I've always been a huge Lanegan fan. All I can say is I have to be in the mood for this but when I am it's a pretty decent album. Favorite track: Pentecostal
9Soilwork
The Living Infinite

Never listened to this band cause I never felt there was a reason to until this release. Saw it featured on the front page checked it out and jammed to it hard at the gym. Got an amazing lift in with this one. Alot of solid energy, solid structures, and solid riffs. Favorite track: Entering Aeons
8Meat Puppets
Rat Farm

I love the fact that this band doesn't try to venture outside of what it does best. I love their quirky riffs, lyrics, etc. Favorite track: Rat Farm
7Anciients
heart of oak

Saw them on the Death to All tour and they were really good live. I would have liked them to move around a bit more.. but hey it's a fairly new group. Awesome album nonetheless. Favorite track: Giants
6In Vain
Aenigma

This release features alot of great melodies surrounded with some heavy guitar atmospheres and awesome tremolo pickings. Vocals are solid however the cleans took some time to grow on me. Favorite Track: Rise Against
5ghostface killah
Twelve Reasons to Die

The production is what drives this record for me but being a huge Wu-Tang fan i've always loved Ghostface's delivery too. Now for GZA to release his album! Favorite Track: The Rise Of The Ghostface Killah
4alice in chains
the devil put dinosaurs here

Pretty much what I expected from this album. But they do it well so it's forgiven. Sludgy heavy and bleak are some ingredients that help me to favor an album. Favorite Track: Phantom Limb
3Toh Kay
the hand that thieves

Beautiful album.. Definately prefer it over the Streetlight release. The lyrics are so good and I like that they are at the forefront of this album. Great acoustic and vocal tone. Great album for any time of day. Favorite track: The Littlest Things
2Ghost B.C.
Infestissumam

A great release from these guys.. would love to see them live. Love the vocalists style and the keys are evil as f. Favorite track: Secular Haze
1Queens of the stone age
...like clockwork

On par with Songs for the Deaf in my opinion. Josh has matured alot lyrically and is surrounded by stellar musicians. Favorite track: I Appear Missing
