|Dream Band- Seriously|
Not a joke this time. Note Maynard, Petrucci, Portnoy, and Ryan
Martinie are conspicuously absent.
|1||Michael Stanne (Dark Tranquillity)-Lead Vocals|
One of my two fave death metal voices (the other being Mr. Akerfeldt). He doesn't sound as evil, but no
one puts more emotion or poeticism into to a scream than this scrawny little Swede.
|2||Stephen Wilson (Porcupine Tree)-Lead Guitar/Clean Vocals|
Great, great songwriter. He also writes riffs that are more bad ass than most metal bands have and his
ethereal harmonies would be the perfect counterpoint to Stanne's maddening screams. He also is one
of the few prog guitarist who can solo tastefully.
|3||Aaron Turner (Isis)-Guitar/Backing Vocals|
Very underrated musician; his wall of sound guitar work and mighty roars in the background would
work very well here.
|4||Justin Chancellor (Tool)-Bass|
Does things with a bass most people can't do with guitar. Also just plain nasty.
I'm not the biggest fan of his projects, but his keys and soundscapes always sound very cool and his
electronica influence would add a lot of atmosphere to this group.
|6||Gavin Harrison (Porcupine Tree)-Drums|
I tried to only use 1 porc tree members, but this guy is far and away my favorite drummer. He can play
just about any style from prog to jazz to fusion to tech metal flawlessly.
|Porcupine Tranquillity, anyway next time I'll do the deathcore super group I'm working on (Don from Waking the Cadaver and Daughtry are in it)|
|nice bass and drums picks|
|I wouldn't put Chancellor as bassist, and I'd put Danny Carey of Tool on drums. perhaps Steve Harris from Maiden on bass, no real good bassists come to mind right now.|
|Yeah, The fact that 2 and 6 are on here is pretty much an instant win.|
|oh yeah, and totally totally scrap Stephen Wilson. Let him produce or something.|
|I purposefully didn't want a meedlee meedlee guitarist. Stephen can actually play tastefully and write pretty bad ass riffs too. I didn't want to do a wank crazy band like everyone else does for their dream groups. And if it makes you happy Wilson produces this ; )|
|Mikael on harsh and Steven on clean vocals? Would sound quite odd I think.|
|would sound like "Bleak"|
|Yup and Bleak = Godly|
|Would sound like the Portnoy/Wilson/Akerfeldt Project.|
|^ I must hear that!|
Stanne's tone differs a bit from Åkerfeldt's but yeah I just kinda got pwned since Bleak is awesome :)
