Hawks
01.10.12 | Pretty impressive if you ask me.
Hey guys. :] |
ffs
01.10.12 | what kind of music do they play? |
Hawks
01.10.12 | Dat black people music. |
Restrikted
01.10.12 | The game was boring as hell |
Hawks
01.10.12 | If you like a lot of offense it was boring. I like defense though and that was one of the best defensive performances of all time by Alabama. |

01.10.12 | A playoff system is needed. Period. |

01.10.12 | That game sucked a god damn dick. |
patman1001
01.10.12 | mmmmmmmm hayden panettiere |
Hawks
01.10.12 | I agree. I've been saying that for a long time too. However, I don't think anyone would beat Alabama. Their defense is just way, way too good. |
JWT155
01.10.12 | LSU did, Oklahoma St against either school would have been a great game. |
dnor
01.10.12 | Defensive games aren't fun to watch. Ever. Field goals suck. I want TD's, and I'm not one who likes the game's ONLY TD to come 5 minutes before the end of the game. |
dnor
01.10.12 | And I'm not saying the game has to be like the Baylor bowl game, or a team needs to score 70 like WVU did against Clemson either....I'm just saying....TD's are nice. |
Hawks
01.10.12 | They only beat them because of like 4 missed field goals. I think it was clear, even with the loss, that Alabama was by far the best team in the country. I would've liked to see OK State's offense against the Alabama defense. That would've made for a better game. |
Hawks
01.10.12 | Also, I think Oklahoma State would've crushed LSU if that would've been the matchup. |
ILJ
01.10.12 | I think it was more Jordan Jefferson sucking dick than Alabama's defense. Albeit a great defense. |
Hawks
01.10.12 | Jordan Jefferson did suck dick last night, but I don't think it would've been any better with Jarret Lee. |
JWT155
01.10.12 | Les Miles showed last night that he's a great recruiter but can't coach in tough situations. |
Hawks
01.10.12 | Yeah he got out coached no doubt about it. Saban is one of the best coaches the game will probably ever see. At the college level at least. |
KjSwantko
01.10.12 | I wasn't surprised they won, I was surprised at the score though, I was expecting another 9-6 from field goals or something like that |
Hawks
01.10.12 | Well it would've been all field goals again if Richardson didn't break one in the 4th quarter. I was really impressed with McCarron too. Didn't turn the ball over, made some great decisions/throws, and managed the game very well. |
DominionMM1
01.10.12 | Awful game. I still can't believe LSU got their asses handed to them like that when they had over a month to prepare. |
Hawks
01.10.12 | The game really wasn't awful. A defense dominating like that rarely ever happens. I mean, LSU only crossed midfield one time. That's incredible. |
Blackbelt54
01.10.12 | I wasn't surprised they won, but I was surprised it was a shutout |
Hawks
01.10.12 | I wasn't too surprised, since I follow them very closely and I know what their defense can do, but I wasn't expecting a shutout by any means. |
dnor
01.10.12 | The game blew. TV ratings proved it. Started as one of the least watched games of all time...ended as the least watched game of all time. People stopped watching in the middle of it. Boring game was boring. |
Hawks
01.10.12 | Again, people only stopped watching because it wasn't a shootout and didn't have 100 points between the two teams like every other BCS bowl game this year. Nobody likes to see defense. |
Blackbelt54
01.10.12 | yeah that kind of game is boring to the mainstream audience. I got a little bored at times, but I really liked watching a defensive game |
Hawks
01.10.12 | I love offense as much as the next person, but seeing a defense be that dominant is just as entertaining to me. |
ILJ
01.10.12 | I love defensive beatdown. But that was a boring beatdown if I've ever seen one. |

01.10.12 | the bcs bowl always sucks the dick off a dog. having 6 weeks between games makes it seem like a fucking exhibition game. |
Hawks
01.10.12 | You have a point there. There's no way they should wait that long to play the game. |
shrapnel
01.10.12 | "Started as one of the least watched games of all time...ended as the least watched game of all time. People stopped watching in the middle of it."
either that or they saw that boring-ass first game and they had no interest in watching the rematch |
Hawks
01.10.12 | That probably had a lot to do with it too. I guess technically this game was boring, considering there was only one touchdown, but personally, I enjoyed watching it. |
shrapnel
01.10.12 | "I guess technically this game was boring"
no "technically" to it, it was boring as fuck!
I enjoy a defensive battle but this game was not competitive therefore it was boring.
had it been 49-0 it would've been just as boring since it was complete dominance |
SLAUGHTERDOZER
01.10.12 | hawks are you gay |
Hawks
01.10.12 | I said technically because it didn't bore me. |

01.10.12 | I've read or heard tons of comments on this game and the BCS in various places, and a lot of people just aren't too informed. I'll address some of the most common questions/complaints.
"Ok State should have been playing rather than Alabama! The BCS and SEC are in bed together!" etc. etc.
While I think Alabama had the slightly better argument (their loss was vs. the #1 team, OK State's was against an unranked), I would love to see Bama or LSU face the Cowboys. However, Oklahoma State fans should probably work on converting their own conference commissioner before they work on the rest of the nation. In the last vote for a college football playoff, the SEC and ACC commish's were the only ones that voted for the plan. The Big 12 and Big Ten guys voted against it. Oops.
"LSU shoulda took Jefferson out for Lee!"
Except over the past few meetings Jefferson has been tons more effective against Alabama than Lee. Lee vs. Bama is 1 TD 7 INTs, Jefferson, while not amazing, has been decent mostly, even making some big plays from time to time. It's pretty understandable that they would keep him in, hoping for a big play to get back from a not-that-big deficit, rather than put Lee in who has been an interception machine against Alabama. Interceptions would put them out of the game much faster. Not to mention Lee would have taken twice as many sacks as Jefferson due to no mobility. My own objective opinion - if it had been Lee in the game, the final score probably would have been worse. |

01.10.12 | "Regardless of which QB was in there, LSU should have thrown the ball down the field more!"
The problem with that is that the QB simply wasn't getting enough time in the pocket for any kind of downfield stuff to develop. Meanwhile, Bama was also stopping any kind of run or option plays. So really the only thing left that they maybe could have tried was some weird flee flicker / gimmick play shit. You could make an argument for that.
"SEC is so overrated blah blah"
Given the SEC's amazing track record against other conferences, this kind of talk always boggles my mind. And this year only continued the trend, with the SEC going 5-2 in bowl games not against themselves. Could have very easily been 6-1 if Georgia hadn't muffed the ending of their game. The only other loss was from Vanderbilt, who is a perennial SEC cellar dweller.
I think the anti-SEC stuff may just come from people getting bored of seeing them win, just like dynasties in any sport. People started hating the Lakers when they won a bunch of rings. Same with the Steelers and their Super Bowls. Defensive football, while usually superior, can also be less fun to watch for most people. I'm sure that contributes. |
Hawks
01.10.12 | I think if people are sick of seeing the SEC win then someone should beat them. The best team's are always from the SEC every single year. If you want to see somebody else, then someone else needs to knock them off. It's as simple as that. |

01.11.12 | "Again, people only stopped watching because it wasn't a shootout and didn't have 100 points between the two teams like every other BCS bowl game this year. Nobody likes to see defense."
No, see, my favorite bowl game this year was the FSU vs. ND. (granted I'm a Nole's fan) but that game was only 18-14. I just like games that have scoring, but are an actually good game between the two teams...not just defense shutting down the exciting part (and honestly, there wasn't even any exciting defensive plays either...) |
