Youth Game Ideas?
So my girlfriend runs games for the youth group I do sound for and Ive been trying to help her
out by coming up with game ideas. Basically something that can keep the attention of like 50
kids with no attention span. If I could get some ideas Id greatly appreciate it. And remember its
a church so try to the amount of testicle usage to a minimum.
This surprised the hell out of me. After like at least 10 through I have settled on a 5 rating, my first of the
year. I can't imagine anything surpassing Grow Till Tall for song of the year, and this will be one of the best
records of the year.
The Winter Of Mixed Drinks
Unsurprisingly, my second favorite record of the year so far and one of my two 4.5s. I know its blasphemy
but I think I like this more than TMOF. Js.
Hymn To The Immortal Wind
It started snowing in Brooks today again, thus, this has made its way back into my daily playlist.
|4|| ||Butch Walker|
I Liked You Better When You Had No Heart
My second 4.5, a criminally underrated gem. The Elvis Costelloness of this is cum-worthy.
A Ticking Clock I Couldn't Stop
Three words - Bright Shimmering Lights.
Dragging A Dead Deer Up A Hill
A haunting masterpiece that has taken a permanent spot in my nightly playlist.
Sorry kids, not for me.
|8||Jonsi And Alex|
Have fallen asleep to this for the past like week. An ambient masterpiece.
A Determinism of Morality
Jesus christ am I stoked for this! That video of the new song is mindbottling.
|10||Year Of No Light|
If their new record is half as good as this (best post metal record ever made, js.) Ill be a happy camper.
|11||Worlds End Girlfriend|
River Filled With Stories is pretty much why I listen to music.
|12||At The Drive-In|
Relationship Of Command
I sometimes do djing downstairs at youth, and I usually put some stuff from this on. They're "fun" enough
while stuff I really enjoy, and no one knows them so I can just tell them that they're a Christian band ;).
Getting alot of kids into P.O.S. So gnarly.
25 vs 25 volleyball.
Some kind of treasure hunt.
Oh and songs for youth. Basically really catchy, kinda stadium indie rock, thats, you know, pretty Christian. Like Manchester Orchestra, As Cities Burn, stuff like that. Greatley appreciate it.
Great list btw.
Tell them Muse are a Christian band, dude.
Something involving candy.
Cage fighting lol.
True Muse would probably work. Umm it usual just involves like up to 10 people while everyone watches. Usually like a fear factor type style thing or w.e.
sex is a fun game
Oh, and music-wise, can't go wrong with Anberlin.
take all the kids and form a circle. get one of the kids in the middle of the circle. after you get them organized, give each kid in the circle a stick. the object of this game is for the kid in the center to make his way out without being beaten to death. if he does, he lives, but if he doesn't..... well, you get the picture
Is it actually in the building or outside? There would be much more scope if it were outdoors.
If it's indoors how about the 'who am i' game... everyone wrtes down a cartoon character (or something kids will know) and hands it to the person next to them without them seeing the name. They hold it to their forehead so everyone can see and then they ask questions...
Actually, this is in the new Tarantino movie. How embarrassing.
Its indoors. Ahah I love intothepit's idea, but Josh thats acually a great idea.
better yet, just give them a sedative and tell them you're playing the sleep game
Try some My Epic - I Am Undone for some christian music.
I saw March_Of_Sand, I thought he was gonna suggest Thrice.
RED LIGHT GREEN LIGHT
gonna just send you my youthstreet playlist man
Yeah thanks Caleb, just fb message it to me or something?
A new game called "Drink the beer." Whoever wins, gets another beer. The loosers have to chug a beer.
I work with kids in a before and after school program, but we play the same fricken games almost every week. There is this game called dragon ball, which is basically soccer, but with using your hands. A lot of points are scored in the game and if a kid gets tagged, they have to drop the ball and whoever tagged him/her gets it (You have to wait 5 seconds to tag them back or else it's not fair). There are two balls being played at the same time. Also, each time has their own zone area in which the other team can't cross over the line. You have to throw the ball outside the other teams zone area.
The only other games we play are knockout, mine field, soccer, or kickball.
whaaa? where did you get one? I am dying to hear it
