11.15.15 | 1. gets boring quickly. like, almost immediately.
2. has two masterpieces on it ("Tomorrow" and "Yellow") but doesn't quite make it as a whole. Abbey Road >.
3. more like the *longest* double LP ever.
4. i will never ever understand how you can consider "Echoes" a great song given the pointless atmosphere-killing funky jam in the middle of it. |

he's wrong. |
Ryus
11.15.15 | all of these are 3.5+ but none that i'd call the best of the best
"On par with Sgt. Pepper and Piper at The Gates as an absolute pinnacle of of the late 60s" forever changes?? |

11.15.15 | "i will never ever understand how you can consider "Echoes" a great song given the pointless atmosphere-killing funky jam in the middle of it."
atmosphere-killing? that's the part where the atmosphere is being created |
InFlamesWeThrash666
11.15.15 | Echoes is pure class |
JamieTwort
11.15.15 | "Echoes? Oh wait every song? yeah all incredible"
Echoes is the best Floyd song but some of the other songs on the album are far from incredible. In fact two of them simply aren't very good. |

11.15.15 | I don't understand what purpose this section serves. The whole song is dark and dreamy except for that part, it just doesn't belong there, at all. |

11.15.15 | apart from 1, this list is bad |

11.15.15 | Pet Sounds isn't boring in the slightest lool

LotusFlower
11.15.15 | I feel like I'm one of the only people who just can't get into Pet Sounds :/ |

11.15.15 | "2. has two masterpieces on it ("Tomorrow" and "Yellow")"
How is Yellow Submarine a masterpiece? |
Ryus
11.15.15 | yellow submarine is probably the worst beatles song ever written |
torts
11.15.15 | every beatles song is probably the worsg song ever written |

11.15.15 | yellow submarine is one of the most innocent songs I've ever heard. it's playful, it's gentle and it's so joyful. i believe it's the best translation from child mind to music ever, and certainly one of the first - which makes it a masterpiece to me. |
Ryus
11.15.15 | yeah some people might enjoy those qualities in it but honestly i see it as incredibly fucking boring and irritating |
alienobserver
11.15.15 | only beatles song i've ever really enjoyed was across the universe and i still liked the fiona apple version more tbh |
Archael
11.15.15 | revolver is best beatles actually, even with yellow submarine dragging it down.
also zoso dude needs to start listening to more than one half a decade of music. |

11.15.15 | pepper's is fake af |

11.15.15 | i find that rubber soul is their most down-to-earth (but still high quality!) and consistent release. which is why it's my 2nd fav. |

11.15.15 | I have 3/5 of these 5'd, so good job.

11.15.15 | agree that 2 is the best record from the beatles and that 3 is the best zepp album. However, its not my favorite double album. thatd go to either the white album or the fragile.

11.15.15 | Good taste bro, yeah God Only Knows is the greatest pop song ever. Electric Ladyland is my fave double album but 3 is great. |
Rawmeeth38
11.16.15 | good list |
zoso33
11.17.15 | anyone who gets bored of Pet Sounds makes no sense to me, and "more like *longest* double LP ever." are you serious altertide? have you even listened to In The Light? or Ten Years Gone? |
altertide0
11.17.15 | I'm not into pop music too much, especially 60's baroque pop, so there you go. And yes, I've heard "In the Light" and "Ten Years Gone", but I've also heard Led Zeppelin's earlier five albums. And after five albums it's hard to get excited by yet another one that sounds pretty much the same.
Sure there are moments of genius (mostly the longer songs) but too few for the album to not drag on. |

11.17.15 | "I feel like I'm one of the only people who just can't get into Pet Sounds :/"
it's very easy to not get into. the main appeal, at least for me, is each song has a couple of lines that truly stick out and really kinda...stick? with you. the music can definitely come off as passable, but a lot of its importance is derived from it being an almost perfect example of straightforward & flawless pop for its time. it holds up because it set some basic yet important framework for the genre & music in general. |

11.17.15 | I feel you altertide; i'd recommend Smile though if you want more progressive Beach Boys. More of a concept album that flows together but, again, not for everyone since its pretty out there lyrically. |
altertide0
11.17.15 | i know almost the whole discog of beach boys (24 albums, up to 1980) |
