03.07.09 | By no means a definitive list (I still have a lot of albums to listen to before I make a final list), but I think that it's better than my previous one. |
SeaAnemone
03.07.09 | This could use a little more variety imo.
Some that wouldn't be anywhere near my list- 3,4,8,10
Some that might be on mine- 7,9
Still a good list though. |
Burning_October
03.07.09 | Yeah, i'm looking to just go and buy all the albums that i've missed out on this decade. So, hopefully the final list will have more variety. |
TheGreatD17
03.07.09 | Oh jeez... 1 and 7 are the only ones I might consider putting on such a list. I'm one of those of the opinion that Choirs of the Eye by Kayo Dot is easily the best album of the decade, but judging your tastes I don't know if you'd appreciate it. Maybe try Oceansize, Sigur Ros, and Brand New's latest album and see if you like any of those. Maybe Kid A by Radiohead, but I don't think it's as great as many people do. |
McP3000
03.07.09 | only 6 would make my list of the top 50 of the 00s
the rest wouldnt have a chance |
ninjuice
03.07.09 | VIVA LA VIDA
because it's a better album. |
Mendigo
03.07.09 | I do like those albums but the only one that could probably be in my top 50 would be 1.
haven't heard 3 and 9 yet though.
and I agree with GreatD17, Choirs of the Eye is also my top album of the 00s, and quite easily so. |
Masochist
03.07.09 | I've got quite a few albums I would add to this list, including Dredg, Eminem, Fair To Midland. 'Viva la Vida' would also be up there. But I can definitely go along with #1.
(I'm actually surprised no one said 'Blackwater Park').
You should try Dredg's "El Cielo." I finally got it for myself in January, and it's been on constant playback ever since. |
AliW1993
03.07.09 | 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 and 8 are great albums. Here's some albums from this decade I think you would like:
Franz Ferdinand - Franz Ferdinand
Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I Am That's What I'm...
Placebo - Meds
Green Day - American Idiot
System Of A Down - Toxicity |
Phrike
03.07.09 | 1, 4, 5 - win
Try
Modest Mouse - Good News For People Who Love Bad News
Arctic Monkeys - Favourite Worst Nightmare
Editors - The Back Room
or maybe Radiohead but I think they suck |
VeryPleasantNeighbor
03.07.09 | uh, Kid A |

Agree. The only thing that might be on my list is Arcade Fire. |
thebhoy
03.08.09 | Arcade Fire is the only thing that would make mine, like others said. Choirs of the Eye has definitely crept up there to number 1 probs for me. Kid A, Lift Your Skinny Fists, Winter Hymn Country Hymn Secret Hymn, Left and Leaving, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot and Black Sheep Boy would also make it |
Burning_October
03.08.09 | Okay, i'm not going to listen to that Kayo Dot album because I can't stand songs that are that long. That's also why I really don't listen to any post-rock.
That being said, I will definitely get Kid A because I love OK Computer. |
Yotimi
03.09.09 | ^ Yes, def Kid A, but don't expect it to sound like OK Computer. List really isn't that bad, just not much variety. Bloc Party's Silent Alarm doesn't get enough love around here; that would probably make my top 50 along with Arcade Fire. And not liking songs bc they're long can cause you to miss out on many many awesome songs. |
