| Baph's 2010 Part II: The You-are-great-just-not-great-enough Albums
Part 2 of my best of 2010. This time albums that are an inch away rfrom the top 10. They were rrall amazing efforts, only 10 albums were rbetter than them this year mind you. Anyway I leave rryou with my rpicks for 11-30. | | 20 | | Intronaut Valley of Smoke
I loved Prehistoricisms, and as good as this might be it kinda let me down
cause I don't feel there's much progression. Still great tho | | 19 | | Cloudkicker Beacons
The way this guy molests his guitar he should be in life sentence for sexual
harassment. | | 18 | | Breakage Foundation
Don't know how to describe it. Just get it. | | 17 | | Amorphis Magic & Mayhem - Tales From the Early Years
Most of the songs do sound better (EVEN BETTER?!) since they are
remastered and let's face it, Joutsen is a far better singer than the previous
one. See? I don't even remember the guy's name. | | 16 | | Clinging To The Trees of a Forest Fire Songs of Ill Hope and Desperation
Doom infused grind. Interested? If not, buy a copy for your boyfriend he'll
apreciate it. | | 15 | | The Flashbulb Arboreal
Ok, he might never be able to top STAVL, but damm he's trying. | | 14 | | Glasser Ring
Indie electropop with female vocals? Yes please! | | 13 | | Guido Anidea
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ww0K7XW8WJY
speaks for itself | | 12 | | Gold Panda Lucky Shiner
A treat for your ears. Ambient/Dubstep that will take you to another world...
(don't do drugs kids!) | | 11 | | Foals Total Life Forever
This goes to my good friend mutatedfreek. Not accessible, but quite
rewarding math rock. | | 10 | | The Dillinger Escape Plan Option Paralysis
Grows off waaaaay to fast but the album delivers what you want from DEP.
Frantic riffs, growls, cleans, frantic riffs, great songwriting, frantic riffs... get
the point? | | 9 | | High on Fire Snakes for the Divine
The initial riff of Snakes for the Divine should be enough to get you by the
balls. | | 8 | | Letlive Fake History
Catchy post-hardcore that sure as hell deserves a listen. Don't know what
else to say. | | 7 | | Amy MacDonald A Curious Thing
The little scotch with a voice so great Barry White would be proud. ACT
might not be as catchy as This is the Life, but it sure as hell delivers. Plus
she's proven to be one consistant songwriter. | | 6 | | More Than Life Love Let Me Go
Boobs in album cover. Need more? Ok. This is the best hardcore release of
2010. Melodic yet agressive with extremely deep lyrics that could give
defeater a run for their money. Yeah it's that good. | | 5 | | Solefald Norron Livskunst
I like avant garde in my black metal. If that's wrong, I don't wanna be right. | | 4 | | How to Dress Well Love Remains
"It's like Justin Vernon went up to Burial and was like yo make an album for
me, and Burial was like sure bro and the shit was cash. Also, Justin Vernon
is black." Couldn't have said it better myself. | | 3 | | Circa Survive Blue Sky Noise
To be honest I find their earlier efforts to be sort of meh. But this is pretty
damm good. Instrumentaly it delivers and the lyrics are great. The vocals
are extremely high pitched but for some reason they just flows with the
music. | | 2 | | An Autumn For Crippled Children Lost
It's a tie between this and Immolation - Majesty And Decay. I just couldn't
decide which one I like more so they both share the 12th spot. Yay for
sharing! | | 1 | | Alcest Ecailles De Lune
The bm infused into Alcest's shoeagazy style is far more noticeable this time
around and it shows improvement all around. Deep, well executed and
highly adictive this surely one of the best albums 2010 has to offer. | |
Baphomet
11.30.10 | Anyone who makes the Amorphis' album artwork work gets a cookie! | vanderb0b
11.30.10 | If you like 1, check out Les Discrets-Septembre et ses dernieres pensees (personally, I prefer it to Ecailles). Their frontman was with Neige in a band a while back and he also did the artwork for 1. | bloc
11.30.10 | I didn't really feel the huge hype with 19 either. It was just okay. | puma35
11.30.10 | baph makes awesome lists | bloc

@puma: thanks man :) | bloc
11.30.10 | Wait for mine, you will be amazed! | GnarlyShillelagh
11.30.10 | Yeah Les Discrets' album was definitely a good one. If you've listened to the Alcest/Les Discrets split, the material off of that EP was on both albums. I prefer Ecailles but Septembre is a great album as well. | Baphomet
11.30.10 | bloc you whore | puma35
11.30.10 | heh sassy bloc | bloc
11.30.10 | I'll put my name in the title so it will generate lots of views and get featured ;) | JWT155
11.30.10 | You have DEP higher then Cloudkicker but you gave Beacons a 4.5 and Option Paralysis a 4... ? | ipunchscenekids
11.30.10 | doesnt say ranked | Baphomet
11.30.10 | actually it IS ranked
The rating is because of muscianship, the ranking in this list is how much I enjoy it besides it's flaws. | Satellite
11.30.10 | "baph makes awesome lists"
especially when they're based on mine. i'm flattered/outraged. | mutatedfreek
12.01.10 | Cool list dude, suffice to say that a lot of these will probably make my list and will probably be higher than they appear here. | Hyperion1001
12.01.10 | Right on the money with 2, it's my album of the year. You should check out Lantlos - .neon if you liked 1 and 2 as much as you did, it's in my 2 spot as of right now. | mutatedfreek
12.01.10 | Also ta for the shout out =) | ipunchscenekids

12.01.10 | "Ok. This is the best hardcore release of 2010. Melodic yet agressive with extremely deep lyrics that could give defeater a run for their money."
what
not even close
dangers is obvz the hxc release of the year and their lyrics can't even touch defeaters | Baphomet
12.01.10 | DuhhKris
I like MTL's lyrics better than Dangers'. Obviously they can't top Defeater but they're somewhat close, at least to me. | Ovrot
12.01.10 | Dude, our last show rocked.
Did you see that chick who took off her clothes and BaphometLivesAgain tattoo'd on one of her boobs?
That was sweet. | Bitchfork
12.02.10 | 20, 8, and 1 are just god awful. 3 sucks too.

12.02.10 | sux sooo much | Baphomet
