Baph's 2010 Part II: The You-are-great-just-not-great-enough Albums

Part 2 of my best of 2010. This time albums that are an inch away rfrom the top 10. They were rrall amazing efforts, only 10 albums were rbetter than them this year mind you. Anyway I leave rryou with my rpicks for 11-30.
20Intronaut
Valley of Smoke

I loved Prehistoricisms, and as good as this might be it kinda let me down cause I don't feel there's much progression. Still great tho
19Cloudkicker
Beacons

The way this guy molests his guitar he should be in life sentence for sexual harassment.
18Breakage
Foundation

Don't know how to describe it. Just get it.
17 Amorphis
Magic & Mayhem - Tales From the Early Years

Most of the songs do sound better (EVEN BETTER?!) since they are remastered and let's face it, Joutsen is a far better singer than the previous one. See? I don't even remember the guy's name.
16Clinging To The Trees of a Forest Fire
Songs of Ill Hope and Desperation

Doom infused grind. Interested? If not, buy a copy for your boyfriend he'll apreciate it.
15The Flashbulb
Arboreal

Ok, he might never be able to top STAVL, but damm he's trying.
14Glasser
Ring

Indie electropop with female vocals? Yes please!
13Guido
Anidea

12Gold Panda
Lucky Shiner

A treat for your ears. Ambient/Dubstep that will take you to another world... (don't do drugs kids!)
11Foals
Total Life Forever

This goes to my good friend mutatedfreek. Not accessible, but quite rewarding math rock.
10The Dillinger Escape Plan
Option Paralysis

Grows off waaaaay to fast but the album delivers what you want from DEP. Frantic riffs, growls, cleans, frantic riffs, great songwriting, frantic riffs... get the point?
9High on Fire
Snakes for the Divine

The initial riff of Snakes for the Divine should be enough to get you by the balls.
8Letlive
Fake History

Catchy post-hardcore that sure as hell deserves a listen. Don't know what else to say.
7Amy MacDonald
A Curious Thing

The little scotch with a voice so great Barry White would be proud. ACT might not be as catchy as This is the Life, but it sure as hell delivers. Plus she's proven to be one consistant songwriter.
6More Than Life
Love Let Me Go

Boobs in album cover. Need more? Ok. This is the best hardcore release of 2010. Melodic yet agressive with extremely deep lyrics that could give defeater a run for their money. Yeah it's that good.
5Solefald
Norron Livskunst

I like avant garde in my black metal. If that's wrong, I don't wanna be right.
4How to Dress Well
Love Remains

"It's like Justin Vernon went up to Burial and was like yo make an album for me, and Burial was like sure bro and the shit was cash. Also, Justin Vernon is black." Couldn't have said it better myself.
3Circa Survive
Blue Sky Noise

To be honest I find their earlier efforts to be sort of meh. But this is pretty damm good. Instrumentaly it delivers and the lyrics are great. The vocals are extremely high pitched but for some reason they just flows with the music.
2An Autumn For Crippled Children
Lost

It's a tie between this and Immolation - Majesty And Decay. I just couldn't decide which one I like more so they both share the 12th spot. Yay for sharing!
1Alcest
Ecailles De Lune

The bm infused into Alcest's shoeagazy style is far more noticeable this time around and it shows improvement all around. Deep, well executed and highly adictive this surely one of the best albums 2010 has to offer.
