Two Years Later

I'm a week late doing this because I totally forgot about it. It's been two years and week since I've joined the site (as this name.) I've been around since Feb 07 though. These are my favorite albums the site has gotten me into over my tenure. First ten are metal, last ten aren't.
1Lost Horizon
A Flame To The Ground Beneath

I want to give Tyler Munro a huge hug for getting me into this band. Best thing he's done in the past two years imo lol. I heart this band.
2Edge of Sanity
Crimson II

Heard the first Crimson in late 2007, and I was skeptical a bit about the sequel. Became blown away with this album. So much better than the original. Album that got me into harsher vocals too.
3In Flames
Colony

I loved Embody the Invisible when it came out on Tony Hawk's Underground, but I wasn't a huge fan of buying music or listening to things not on the radio at the time. One of the greatest melodic records I've heard.
4Amon Amarth
Once Sent From the Golden Hall
5Blind Guardian
A Night At The Opera
6Moonsorrow
V: Havitetty

Honestly I haven't listened to this in about two years, but it opened me up to so much more music, and for that I always have a place in my heart for this one.
7Tarot
Suffer Our Pleasures
8Kamelot
The Black Halo
9Cynic
Traced in Air

I've come to really appreciate this over the past few months.
10Opeth
Watershed

Four Opeth albums later, this is still my favorite. Still Life is really close to second though.
11Mono
Hymn to the Immortal Wind

Thank you Adam Downer for reviewing this. It's easily the best album of 09, and my favorite post rock album period.
12Godspeed You! Black Emperor
Slow Riot For New Zero Kanada
13Bon Iver
For Emma, Forever Ago
14 Diablo Swing Orchestra
The Butcher's Ballroom

Technically metal?? Yeah kinda. But it's so out there that I don't even put it in a genre.
15Mutyumu
Ilya
16Rome
Masse Mensch Material

Not thanking the review site for this one. I found this gem while browsing through the forums.

It's Not Me, It's You!

yep, I've come to the conclusion that post rock is like my second favorite genre. I still have a lot to listen to, but I'm getting there.
19Bat for Lashes
Two Suns
20Porcupine Tree
In Absentia
