Burzum Ranked
Burzum's albums ranked |
| 9 | | Burzum Aske
N/A: Haven't heard this one. |
| 8 | | Burzum Dau?i Baldrs
2/5: Easily the weakest Burzum album. Kinda cool for occasional listening and background music, but that's about it. |
| 7 | | Burzum Belus
3/5: I just wasn't a big fan of Burzum's first post-jail release- the songwriting seemed kind of lazy, the vocals were a bit underwhelming, and it was just... really repetitive- not that Burzum's other releases weren't, but these songs actually felt so. |
| 6 | | Burzum Hli?skj?lf
3.5/5: A big step up from Dau?i Baldrs (his other ambient release which bottomed out this list,) Hli?skj?lf is simply a well-done ambient record. If you take this as a black metal album you will be sorely disappointed, but take it as it's supposed to be, an ambient album, and it is great. |
| 5 | | Burzum Fallen
3.5/5: Better than Belus, but not on par with his older work, Burzum's most recent release was a pretty good album but not much more. |
| 4 | | Burzum Det Som Engang Var
4/5: "Key To The Gate" is probably my favourite Burzum track, but the rest of the album just doesn't match it's greatness... not that this is a bad release at all, in fact it's quite good- just a couple of the tracks go on for too long. |
| 3 | | Burzum Filosofem
4/5: Though the 25-minute (!) ambient piece on here is far too long, the rest of this release is fantastic- the vocals in particular sound great on here, and the keyboards are awesome. |
| 2 | | Burzum Hvis lyset tar oss
4.5/5: Burzum's most well-known release, and with good reason: it's a great album. It just loses half a point for the title track, which is unnoteworthy compared to the other songs on the album. |
| 1 | | Burzum Burzum
5/5: My personal favourite Burzum album. Just something about this record gets to me (I think it's the atmosphere). In any case, this is a phenomenal album, and my personal favourite by Burzum. |
