11.26.12 | I haven't seen Lincoln, Flight, or Wreck-It Ralph yet, but I hear those are supposed to be good. I'm also interested in Cloud Atlas, Looper, and Dredd |
Drsmith4
11.26.12 | The Master should be in there somewhere, certainly above The Avengers. |
MetallicOpeth
11.26.12 | 7 psychopaths was interesting, a bit odd but decent, but yea you need to see Looper holy fuck so awesome |
thejon93rd
11.26.12 | Marvel's The Avengers is currently my #1, plus it's the best comic-book film I've ever seen. Never
have I had a more fun time experiencing a movie in theatres for the first-time. This film reminds me
why I love movies, and I hope that the Oscars throw it some love because it definitely deserves it. |
Lambda
11.26.12 | Ah, I haven't seen The Master yet! Wanna see that one too. Yea, Looper is on my must-see list, and I hope The Avengers gets nominated for a bunch of Oscars- it certainly deserves it. Seven Psychopaths seems interesting too... there have been A LOT of good movies this year. |
XingKing
11.26.12 | Silver Linings Playbook
Moonrise Kingdom
End of Watch
the Perks of Being a Wallflower
Killing Them Softly (I have no doubt it'll rank in the top) |
demigod93
11.26.12 | watched Avengers again on DVD the other day, still holds up.
really need to see Moonrise Kingdom, Dredd and Perks still |
Recspecs
11.26.12 | Django Unchained? |
XingKing
11.26.12 | Is that this year? For some reason, I thought it was early next year. |
akimbo
11.26.12 | wreck it ralph was good saw it last night and argo was amazing one of my favorite movies of the past 10 years easily |
Celsius
11.26.12 | Terrible list. The Dark Knight Rises is definitely in the top 10. Also XingKing, End of Watch isn't that good. And you should keep these list to yourself (because they are bad) |
MasBarHigeuoris21
11.26.12 | Looper should be on this list somewhere. Cloud Atlas was pretty damn good too. Haven't seen the Silver Linings Playbook but that's supposed to be good to. Ted should be higher on this list |
MasBarHigeuoris21
11.26.12 | I just saw End of Watch on Saturday and I must agree that it really wasn't that good |
br1nk
11.26.12 | The Avengers was the most shit out god awful CGI mess i've ever had the displeasure of viewing. Probably one of the worst comic inspired movie ever made (I say comic "inspired" because it in no way emulated an actual Avengers story).
New Spider-Man sucked hard too. Though I only say that because they fucked up the Lizard so badly.
Prometheus was a mess. The plot of the movie was fucked with so much that it completely altered the finished product and made it unrecognizable from the original script.
But...props to Skyfall. Also, no Dark Knight Rises? |
XingKing
11.26.12 | End of Watch was way better than The Campaign and Ted. The Dark Knight Rises deserves to be on a Top 10 Most Disappointing Films of 2012 list. What a pile of shit. |
MasBarHigeuoris21
11.26.12 | Dark Knight wasn't as disappointing as it was boring. I understand that Nolan was going for an epic finish to a trilogy but 3 hours? Seriously? |

Most lolworthy scene of the movie. Cops ignored the fact that they had guns and instead chose to charge them and use their fists. lolwut? |

11.26.12 | XingKing, perhaps you don't fully understand it |
Lambda
11.26.12 | "Terrible list. The Dark Knight Rises is definitely in the top 10."
lolpinions. I was disappointed by The Dark Knight Rises. It felt too overblown to me. Plus the sound mixing on Bane's voice sucked. |
XingKing
11.26.12 | I understood it just fine. It was a terrible film. What more is there? |
demigod93
11.26.12 | i loved Dark Knight Rises in theaters but in retrospect it had a lot of stupidity to it.
that said the cinematography was great, for the most part. |
Strider
11.26.12 | The Dark Knight Rises was great, despite the prison scenes that were a bit overdone and boring. The
plan against Gotham is better than the one in the Dark Knight.
Saw Brave yesterday, it was good, but not top 10 material |
Celsius
11.26.12 | Why are you focusing on something as superficial as his voice, when there's so much to it? |

Bane. |

11.26.12 | List is missing Moonrise Kingdom, Cloud Atlas, The Master, and Looper. What the fuck man. |
XingKing
11.26.12 | He said the sound mixing, not his actual voice. Have you watched the dvd/bluray yet? Do so with headphones on. The sound editing on that movie is fucking hilariously bad. |
zxlkho
11.26.12 | Prometheus was terrible, and Lincoln was underwhelming for me. |
demigod93
11.26.12 | Looper was over hyped to hell. Movie was okay. |
MasBarHigeuoris21
11.26.12 | List is missing Moonrise Kingdom, Cloud Atlas, The Master, and Looper. What the fuck man. [2]
Looper and Cloud Atlas are probably the best movies I have seen all year |
Lambda
11.26.12 | Yeah Celsius, what XingKing said.
"List is missing Moonrise Kingdom, Cloud Atlas, The Master, and Looper. What the fuck man."
All movies I have yet to see! |

11.26.12 | Yeah, I watched it on BluRay with a z-5500, but I don't complain about something petty as the sound mixing. The movie is fine, but you're not |

11.26.12 | Where's Taken 2? Best movie ever. |
MasBarHigeuoris21

11.26.12 | br1nk, what's your favourite movie? |

Back to the Future maybe out of pure nostalgia. |

11.26.12 | I hate everything on this list except Argo and Brave : ) |
Tikicobra
11.26.12 | I love The Campaign so damn much, it's crazy. I'm insanely excited for Django Unchained. |
clercqie
11.26.12 | Two best I've seen were Looper and Killing Them Softly. Terrific movies, each for different reasons. |
iSkane
11.26.12 | 2 should be 1, if you think otherwise, you can Argo fuck yourself. |
americanohno
11.26.12 | Oh man Killing Them Softly is gonna be amazing. |

11.26.12 | oh god this list again |
Cipieron
11.26.12 | 3 and 4 are the only two on here that i can agree with |
jdennis31
11.26.12 | @mvood watched that movie the other night. pretty good movie, but nothing special. tom hardy = good, shia lebouf = bad. also, moonrise kingdom was boring as hell, ya'll people have harder drugs than i do apparently |
AGuyIsWatchingYou
11.26.12 | It's like the list I made as a joke but you're being serious.
Anyway
1. Moonrise Kingdom
2. The Master
3. The Imposter (documentary)
4. The Comedy
5. Seven Psychopaths
"moonrise kingdom was boring as hell, ya'll people have harder drugs than i do apparently"
Yeah sure if you a terrible attention span, it's not exactly a 4 hour long character study with themes about the human condition. I really don't so how you could find it boring, disliking it is one thing but finding something like that film boring is just... |
jdennis31
11.26.12 | if you can't understand how i'd find that movie boring, then i envy you. there can't be much that bores you. nothing really happens and the dialogue isn't engaging. |
Inferis
11.26.12 | Don't know if anyone said this yet, but Dredd is fucking awesome. And Moonrise Kingdom is boring as hell. |
apert
11.26.12 | TDKR was weakest in the trilogy but better than spiderman anyway. avengers is best superhero film this year... still need to see Argo and hobbit should be good |
AGuyIsWatchingYou
11.26.12 | "nothing really happens"
What does that even mean?
"the dialogue isn't engaging."
Subjective but I find the dialogues to be extremely charming and admire the ability of the scripts to maintain a quirkiness to it while not becoming overbearing like it does in so many of postmodernist comedies released these days. Plus, and I may risk coming of as creepy here, the performances of the kids (especially Kara Hayward) are just absolutely adorable and precious.
Unrelated to the dialogue of course the film is beautifully shot and costumed.
Anyway I just don't see how people can find things like this boring, films like Moonrise Kingdom are by all means easy to follow and seem to be able to avoid repetitiveness while never droning on too long in one section. Oh well. |
jdennis31
11.26.12 | it means that it's not a very eventful movie to me. rushmore maintains some of the same quirky aspects that i like in wes anderson films while having more conflict/resolutions. agreed on the aesthetics of the movie, but those are only perks. also agreed on the kids' performances. i'm not saying uneventful movies are bad, i just find them boring. and boring doesn't automatically mean it's a bad movie, just means i'd probably never watch again. i just don't understand all the "movie of the year" nominations in the thread. |
YankeeDudel
11.26.12 | just saw Rises yesterday and thought it was incredibly meh. bane was weak all around and had a shitty ending. catwoman was just there and didnt care about her. batman is barely in the movie. music never shuts up. id give it 6.5-7/10 on first watch. |
DrGonzo1937
11.26.12 | Meh list. |
andcas
11.26.12 | you either appreciate wes anderson or you don't. frankly though if it's the latter it's because you have no sense of having a
weird humor and style. |
BillTheButcher
11.26.12 | save some room at the top for Django Unchained. |
andcas
11.26.12 | that movie could go either way. tarantino isn't what he used to be. |
McMegaMountain
11.26.12 | I love movies and go to the theater quite a bit, but I can't think of 10 movies that I really loved this year.
Skyfall, TDKR, Looper, Argo, The Avengers, 21 Jump St, and I guess, Chronicle which is weird saying. Oh and Prometheus. So that's 8. Still got Django, Lincoln, Pi, and 7 psychopaths, and Killing Them Softly. |
andcas
11.26.12 | yeah but that's mainstream movies. no one has even included all the amazing indie sleepers. |
scissorlocked
11.26.12 | amour and moonrise kingdom |

jdennis31
11.26.12 | not bad in the sense of the last airbender or 10,000 b.c., but moonrise, life aqautic, and tenebaums are all movies that i could only watch once. rushmore, darjeeling, and fantastic fox were all much better. oh, and bottle rocket |

If you did a minute of research you'd know it was gonna be bad a first time director for one and I believe the writer wrote disturbia, last house on the left and something else bad |
Buzzkillr
11.26.12 | end of watch was fucking great fuck y'all |

11.26.12 | the only negative thing I ever hear anyone say about anderson is he and his movies are eye candy for
pretentious hipsters who think they're unique. |
jdennis31
11.26.12 | naw, the only problem i have with his movies are that they are slow. i guess slow is a better word to use than boring. @buzzkillr bout to watch that movie til the end of my shift once my boss leaves |

MegaJake1024
11.26.12 | Br1nk, how did the Avengers suck? Given how many character relationships it had to develop in such a short time, it was the most pleasantly surprising film I've ever seen. Best movie ever? No. But the most entertaining superhero film ever made? Yes. The Dark Knight was better, but not as entertaining. Great humor. Great action. CGI filled? Yes, but it was also a sensational final battle, including some expertly crafted film work, such as the one shot where it zooms around the city watching each hero kick ass. And when you say it was not inspired by a real Avengers comic story, you're wrong. Did they ever have a massive battle in a densely populated (which maybe was the stupidest part of the film) city? No, but the villains are from the Avengers comic, and Thanos is also one of the Avengers' villains, which was an incredible way to conclude the movie. That movie was dope. Sorry, but I can't see anyone disliking that film without being either unintelligent or a massive sour pussy obsessed with realism. And if you are, why watch a superhero movie? That was a rant. |
andcas
11.26.12 | the whole villain plot was pretty fucking "oh hey haven't seen this done a million times before" but somehow it was still really fun to watch. |
