Separating The Artist From The Music

A discussion question.... can you enjoy music even if you think its creator is crazy? Or a douchebag? Or a bad person? For example, Burzum: he is a lunatic, but admittedly made some excellent music. How do you justify your listening of his songs to others? Does it bother you that his personal life is so wrought with awful happenings, or can you separate the music from the artist?
