| My Favourite Aussie Bands
Ok so last time I did this list I made it "the best" Aussie bands and missed out a fair few artists who I love.
So now I'll give it a second go and this time make it a healthy mix of what I love and what I hear on the radio. Also give me some suggestions, I really love getting into local bands. :) | 1 | Silverchair
They are one of my favourite bands ever and are probably one of the most successful Aussie bands as well. | 2 | The Presets
I've seen these guys live 4 times and they are such great entertainers. They ave enjoyed some much deserved success recently. | 3 | The Mission In Motion
I first heard these guys when they supported Story of the Year in Sydney and they are a great pop-punk band, not mainstream, but still excellent. | 4 | The Living End
Their earlier stuff is pure gold, Im not much of a fan of some of the later stuff but I can not disregard their awesome stage presence. | 5 | The Getaway Plan
Not everyone's cup of tea but if you look past "Where The City Meets The Sea" you will find some real gems on their album "Other Voices Other Rooms". | 6 | John Butler Trio
John Butler is a truly amazing guitarist, I have stood and watched in awe at what he does too many times to not include him on the list. | 7 | Parkway Drive
I really admire these guys for the energy that bursts from their music, it is a very raw sound and I love it. | 8 | The Potbelleez
I listened to "Trouble Trouble" for about a week straight. I really like what they do. | 9 | The Butterfly Effect
I never was much of a fan of them at first but having a friend who is obsessed with these guys pushed me into delving further into their stuff and I started to really enjoy it. | 10 | Birds of Tokyo
I'm seeing them at BDO '09 and I'm really excited for it. | |

Some quick ones. There's a lot of Aussie hardcore bands as well which you'd probably like, but I'm not too familiar with them :) These are some of my recommendations anyway | Vooligan
01.03.09 | I like this one heaps better. I'm also obsessed with The Butterfly Effect, they are awesome. Birds of Tokyo are great too, im seeing them at BDO as well. Check out Karnivool if you havent already, Same singer as BoT, but heavier music, more like TBE's earlier stuff. Getaway Plan and TLE are also good, dont care for much else here though. But its nice to have another person on here who likes TBE. | Vooligan
01.03.09 | Oh and what bahamut said is basically what u need to check out locally. Plus Karnivool. | ASberg
01.03.09 | What no AC/DC? | Douchebag
01.03.09 | As and Australian Living End are by far the best thing to come out of here. every album is gold (Modern artillery not so much), and the new one has been on repeat for months.
i have all silverchair's albums, but i get tired of them after a while, plus they didn't impress me live (saw them with powderfinger)
needs Jet, both albums are cool. and as cliche' as it is, i would add AC(lighningbolt)DC | TheyTookOurJobs
