been in china for almost 6 weeks and coming home today. pulled an all-nighter in hopes that it'll reduce the jet lag and i still have time to kill so the list is just digs and random thoughts. been on somewhat of a (modern) post-hardcore binge. lots of albums out in the last couple of weeks, so let me know which ones are worth listening to. getting ready to download exoplanet as soon as i walk in the door. | 1 | | Brand New Deja Entendu
fell in love with the album again and had to raise my original rating. in my opinion, it barely edges out the devil and god lyrically, whereas the devil and god is slightly sonically superior. that last part reminds me of soundwave superior by emmure. fuck. | 2 | | Glassjaw Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About
always listened to worship and tribute but generally ignored this. daryl's vocals are kind of hard to digest at times but it's a pretty great album for what it is. | 3 | | Letlive Fake History
one of the best post-hardcore releases i've heard in awhile, and most definitely the best one from 2010. a lot of versatility in sounds and muther and day 54 are genius. | 4 | | Alexisonfire Crisis
crisis will always be better than watch out! in my mind. also, old crows/young cardinals is way underrated by you people. | 5 | | Deftones Diamond Eyes
never really listened to the deftones until this year and when i actually took the time to listen to the whole album i was blown away. time to break out the earlier releases. | 6 | | Between The Buried And Me Alaska
will always be one of my favorite albums ever. in light of the band's april ep news, i'm keeping my fingers crossed that they'll implement more of the sound they had in the silent circus and alaska. honestly, much better riffage. | 7 | | Thrice Vheissu
probably because i got into "the scene" relatively late, vheissu will always be the defining thrice album for me, though deadbolt is still one of my favorite songs. | 8 | | He Is Legend I Am Hollywood
dat bass. and schuylar's voice sounds so much better, fuck, everything sounds better. i initially hated suck out the poison but it's grown on me. either way, none of their later material came close to i am hollywood. not a weak track. | 9 | | This Or The Apocalypse Haunt What's Left
bring them guitars down to drop b. honestly, not a very memorable listen, but some fantastic guitar parts. clean vocals made them better if you ask me. | 10 | | The Wonder Years The Upsides
i'm not even starting college for another 3 weeks so i'm still a kid and i definitely have no idea what's it's like living in south philly, but fuck, the lyrics on this albums are inspiring. regardless of what anyone says, this album is quickly becoming a 5 to me. makes me want to just go out and do something, ya know? | |

09.05.10 | and the glassjaw album gets messed up. anyway, list doesn't really reflect the post-hardcore binge, but whatever. i've been keeping tabs on the contortionist, tera melos, for today and a bunch of other stuff. would appreciate any input on stuff i may have overlooked. also, anyone know if yelawolf's album dropped yet? | Counterfeit
