Sister's Conversion To Metalcore

As some of us can relate to, younger sisters usually do not have the greatest taste in music. Unfortunately, my sister was one of them. Don't get me wrong, she did listen to okay stuff (Anberlin, The Classic Crime, Bob Marley, ect.) but I took it upon myself to help show her the path to a more angry side of music... gently of course.

All Killer No Filler

Start things off at square 1... mostly pop-punk but it has the ability to open doors

Blink 182 Greatest Hits

1 and 2 came pretty quick. I decided to skip the formalities and just go straight to the greatest hits... it was a hit.
3New Found Glory
Catalyst

Most would say "Stick and Stones..." but this is was got me into fast, more aggresive music so I decided to pass that along to the sis.
4Four Year Strong
Rise Or Die Trying

Kinda back to the pop-punk side of things but this album introduces things that New Found Glory couldn't: breakdowns, gang-vocals, semi-hardcore yells, ect. She actually loved them.
5Set Your Goals
Mutiny!

Starting to get into the melodic hardcore punk side. Kinda takes away from the breakdowns, definately more direct and in your face and quite a few memorable lyrics to add... this is actually one of my sis's favorite albums now.
6 Tiefighter
I Could Tell The World...

A small time punk hardcore band that I found and decided to share with my sister. This one was a little tricky cause it is mostly hardcore yells throughout the entire album with occasional clean vocals so I was in doubt if my sister would like this or not... she did.

Again, very tricky. Once I showed her "Riff like Helmets Page Hamilton" it was pretty much said and done from there.

Now its the steady climb into metalcore. I decided to start with this album mainly as a precursor to 9, as I find it very similar. At this point my sister digs the heaviness of albums and the mulitple introductions into breakdowns that I've shown her help her adapt more easily into this style of music.
