sigur ros - ( ). it's their best out of the three albums i've heard
Mogwai, Mono, 65daysofstatic, Yndi Halda, Caspian, Eluvium, Hammock, This Will Destroy You, Battles, and Russian Circles.
Additionally, you might want to look into Isis, Pelican, Rosetta, Kayo Dot, maudlin of the Well, Oceansize, Jesu, and Do Make Say Think.
Islands. Don't know if they're really Post-Rock, but they're good anyways.
ZooYorker hit the nail on the head. also check out Followed By Ghosts, Have A Nice Life, and Red Sparowes.
People here seem to swear by Sigur Ros, but I think God Is An Astronaut is some of the best post-rock I've heard.
anyway you don't need russian circles, but Mono, Yndi Halda, Eluvium are necessities. I'll add in Laura and Spokes to that list.
damn EC beat me, i was going to suggest Laura. also look into Ef, Lakes of Russia, sleepmakeswaves, Daturah, Motek, Amiina
don't look into Ef
Sigur Ros-Agaetis Byrjun. It's better than ( ) imo.
They've been mentioned already, but most definitely get Mono, Hammock, Eluvium, Red Sparowes....
Also look into Mice Parade, The Mercury Program, Samuel Jackson Five, Don Cab, Labradford, On Fire, Port Royal, Tortoise.
Irepress. heavy post-rock
