| Jaga Jazzist Setlist
June 25 2011 at Venue Nightclub in Vancouver BC. It was
absolutely phenomenal. If I hadn't already seen Godspeed this
year then Jaga would be the frontrunner for show of the year,
and I went to Sasquatch. Jaga Jazzist, who are from Norway,
played as part of the Vancouver International Jazz Festival at a
small nightclub on Granville street. Nobody else but my one friend
and I had the balls to get close to the stage, so we were right of
close about two feet from their faces. I snagged a setlist and got
it signed by the drummer (who isn't a human being, he crushes
skulls on the kit oh my lurrrd), a vinyl copy of One-Armed Bandit
and got it signed by 3 of the band members, and I also got one of
his drumsticks. Oh man it was unbelievable. I'll post the video
that I shot of the encore in the comments. You should definitely
watch it, these guys are absolutely phenomenal live. | 1 | Jaga Jazzist Book of Glass | 2 | One-Armed Bandit | 3 | Bananfluer Overalt | 4 | Toccata | 5 | Suomi Finland | 6 | Reminders | 7 | All I Know is Tonight | 8 | Music! 06.29.11 | Songs 1-4, 8 and 11 are from One-Armed Bandit
Songs 5, 6, 9, and 10 are from The Stix
Songs 7 and 13 are from What We Must (one of my five favourite albums of all time, check it out if you havent)
here's the video I took of the encore. It's actually surprisingly good quality for being taken with a pretty old point-and-shoot http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6TsttgDOZ8 | Electric City
06.29.11 | man way too little from what we must | fsharptrit0ne
06.29.11 | you lucky fucking bastard. I would sell my left nut to see All I Know Is Tonight live | Aids
06.29.11 | Downer - I know but that was to be expected, I was following their setlists. Also, it was technically part of the Vancouver Jazz Fest (it was a little bit of an older crowd) so they focused a lot on The Stix which won Jazz Album of the year or something in Europe when it was released. I dont know something like that. One-Armed Bandit is really growing on me too. But yeah, I would have been down for more What We Must for sure as it's one of my favourite albums.
fsharp - I would too. Thankfully I didn't have to. That's one of my favourite songs ever ever ever. I'm so lucky I got to see it. I actually took a video of that one too so when I upload it I'll let you know if you're interested. | fsharptrit0ne
