A Pile Of Vinyl On My Coffee Table

I just moved into a new place with a friend a week and a half ago. We're both pretty lazy, and every record we have listened to (more or less) is sitting on one of the various tables in the living room. Now, because of the desperately gripping nature of this subject matter, I will cut right to the chase. The albums are as follows:
1The National
High Violet

Signed by 3/5th of the band when I met them at Sasquatch 2010.
2Sufjan Stevens
The Age of Adz

Just spun this while incredibly baked, as intended.
3The Mountain Goats
We Shall All Be Healed

Signed by John Darnielle. I've just recently decided that this is pretty much the
best album ever (it's not even my favourite tMG album, but join me will you, on this
hyperbolic voyage). It was my first album by what is now my second favourite
band, and I connected with it for the first time while in the taxi back to my friends
house after seeing my first favourite band live. I have a friend who is a very
talented tattoo artist, and if he feels that he is confident that he could depict this
album artwork well, I'm going for it as my first tattoo.
4Japandroids
Post-Nothing

ohhhhhhhhh we used to dream, now we worry about dying
5The Rural Alberta Advantage
Departing

Translucent red vinyl purchased at their Nov. 9 show. Signed by all three members.
They're great people, and it was in incredible show. That drummer, my word. They
opened for...
6 Dan Mangan
Radicals 7"

My second time seeing him in the past two months but this show was otherworldy.
It was the last stop of the tour, and the largest hometown crowd Mangan's ever
played. It was magical. I won't describe it now because we'd be here all day, but
if you get a chance to see him, do not miss it. He was touring this 7", and opened
with the single "We Want To Be Pleasantly Surprised, Not Expectedly Let Down"
7Dan Mangan
Oh Fortune

Also purchased at the show (yeah, I dropped some serious cash). Signed by the
legend himself.
8The Mountain Goats
Tallahassee

Came out 10 years ago! Happy Birthday yay!!!! The group of awesome people at
Crooked Neighbour have put together a tribute album called "Tallahassee Turns
Ten." It is a cover of the entire album, each song by a different artist. And who,
you ask, gets the honour of playing the classic No Children? Laura fucking
Stevenson. Awwww yeah, my cassette is in the mail.
9Menomena
Friend and Foe

Purchased at their recent show at the Biltmore Cabaret, my favourite venue in
Vancouver. Fun fact: my new place is a five minute walk/ten minute stumble form
the Biltmore! Happy days! This record is sweet, the front cover has a revolving
wheel that displays the different track names and slightly different artwork. I had
my choice of their 3 most recent albums (I limited myself to one, thankfully) and I
think I made the right choice.
10Broken Bells
Broken Bells

"Buy this. Buy the record. Buy ten." - Sobhi
11Refused
The Shape of Punk to Come

Not overrated fuck you.
12Bon Iver
Bon Iver, Bon Iver

Absolutely glorious full-size artwork. I'm so happy I own this.
13 Box of Dub 2
Dubstep and Future Dub

I didn't own anything that could be used for DJing, so this caught my eye and I
bought it. It contains tracks from Kode 9, Digital Mystikz, Skream, Pinch,
Ramadanman, Cotti, Sub Version, and more.
14Modest Mouse
The Moon & Antarctica

Everything from here to the end is my roommate's. I fucking wish I owned this. I
get to spin it whenever I want though yeeee.
15Radiohead
OK Computer

IM A CREEEEEEEEEEEEEEP
16Radiohead
Hail to the Thief

IM A WEIRDOOOOOOOOO
17Radiohead
The King of Limbs

23Modest Mouse
No One's First And You're Next

In case you can't tell, my roommate really likes Modest Mouse and The Mars Volta.
I am ok with this.
24Jung People
Tenterhooks

A really post-rock duo from Calgary, my roommate introduced me to them. They're
super awesome and this LP is available for free download on their bandcamp
http://jungpeople.bandcamp.com/
