11.07.08 | Groundhog Day is pretty much one of the greatest movies and my favorite Bill Murray flick. Pastries Larry? Good list. | Mendigo
11.07.08 | for some stranger reason it wasn't possible to add a comment to every album, so three movies are missing in the list, these would be:
48. The Dreamers (Bernardo Bertolucci, 2003)
49. Amistad (Steven Spielberg, 1997)
50. Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (Irvin Kershner, 1980)

11.07.08 | This list slaughters pretty much every list I've seen here that I can remember.
1, 2, 11, 13, 14, 15, 17 (listening to this now), 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 31, 33, 37, 39, 47 are some of the best albums ever.
The movies that I've seen on this also rule. | Mendigo
11.07.08 | actually some of them I've first come to notice on your favorite-albums list ;)
so thanks to you. | jrowa001

11.07.08 | WAG THE DOG! | thebhoy
11.07.08 | wow, what an excellent list in both ways! I'm in a film class right now and we watch awesome old movies that I've wanted to see for awhile. All of the ones I've seen on here are great. May I suggest Dr. Strangelove, La Grand Illusion, The Bicycle Thieves (the saddest movie ever imo, italian neo-realism ftw) and the Barbarian Invasions (French-Canadian movie)? I feel as though you would like those. | willfellmarsy
11.07.08 | minus Fight Club u hav excellent tast...u need 10 immediately | bustyagunz
11.07.08 | excellent........ yay
itd be nice if fargo and the big lebowski were on here but whutevs u hit up a lot of nice ones | ninjuice
11.07.08 | "minus Fight Club u hav excellent tast" - one of the biggest failures I've seen here.
glad to see someone else loves Minority Report. Add Requiem For a Dream man. | Electric City
11.07.08 | you dont need 6 | Mendigo
11.07.08 | woohoo, thanks for all the comments.
Dr. Strangelove and Requiem for a Dream are two of those films I want to see for a long time now, but they're nowhere for rent, and never broadcasted in television over here either. Guess I have to buy them :/
As for Fargo and The Big Lebowski: They're both wonderful movies, and were among those I had to leave out to get exactly 50 movies together.
thanks for all the comments, I've noted thebhoy's other recs as well, as I will note every other recommendation someone wants to give me. | thebhoy
11.07.08 | if you can't find Dr. Strangelove for rent, I'm surprised. But then you'll definitely be hard pressed to find La Grand Illusion and Bycicle Thieves. | natey5280
11.07.08 | Forrest Gump sucks but Casablanca is the besttt. | Captain North
11.07.08 | Crap load of awesome movies here.
Obviously you've never watched Donnie Darko though. Actually, you haven't mentioned any of my very very top movies (Donnie Darko, Saw, The Fountain and Love Actually). Darn you! | natey5280
11.08.08 | oh LOTR for the win too | Mendigo
11.08.08 | I really disliked Donnie Darko tbh, a crappy David Lynch-wannabe if you ask me and I'm not much of a fan of David Lynch either. Saw wasn't that great as well, it had its good moments but I really disliked the solution, just so unbelievable that they wouldn't have noticed that man was alive all the time. Haven't seen the other two, but I'll check them out (actually The Fountain's also one of those movies I want to see for a long time now) |
