| Five Recent Hip-hop Purchases
I knew what I was getting before purchase for the most part, but damn... | | 1 | | Raekwon Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... Pt II
I love the Wu, but I gotta admit it, I had low hopes for this one. Ghost has been the only one doing anything relevent as of late, and I wasn't expecting Rae to be the one to make my jaw drop. Shit, was I wrong. Album of the year? | | 2 | | Sean Price Jesus Price Supastar
I had not heard of Sean Price until he opened for Raekwon in Philly. Bought this as soon as I found it and damn, son. This man kills a microphone. Got my respect at the show the moment he dropped the line "Where was I? Ah, yes. Shawn Carter is nice, but Sean Price is the best." The crowd responded with "Fuck Jay-Z!" chants that continued on through the show until Rae came on, and later paused between songs and politely told the crowd to chill with that. | | 3 | | Eminem The Slim Shady LP
May not be his best, but still my favorite. "Still Don't Give a Fuck" will remain the song I most identify and relate with until the day I die. | | 4 | | Big L Lifestylez Ov Da Poor and Dangerous
Don't let anyone tell you differently; Big L was, and will remain the most gangster MC to ever hold a mic. He's the epitome of that nigga ya know and fear from the block. Just listen to his lyrics. I wish Philly had the honor to call him ours. Not to mention that flow. RIP | | 5 | | Jadakiss Kiss of Death
The man's albums will never compare to his mixtapes, but what's not to love about his voice? It's just flat-out awesome. | |

11.30.09 | 1,2,4 are all very sick.
Makes sure to get monkey bars! by SP great album | LordSalohcin21
11.30.09 | i will buy anything he puts out after the frenzy he put the crowd in with that line. | qwe3
11.30.09 | 3 is prob his best album tbh. eminem rules | LordSalohcin21
11.30.09 | i agree, but the MMLP is a much more serious, polished effort. | qwe3
11.30.09 | yeah but i think eminem works better without polish. | LordSalohcin21
11.30.09 | definitely. relaspe, despite being great on dre's part, was sickening. i don't get the accent. if you have an answer to that, please share. i've gotten too many shoulder shrugs when i ask people i know. | qwe3
11.30.09 | yeah i totally agree! i think that the production/beats on the whole have been superb during eminem's career. love the way eminem's beats have always been more lyrical and melodic. it suits his style. i mean Underground off relapse is actually a fantastic song.
the accent is annoying though, i agree. i dont understand why he feels the necessity to do it | Ross22
11.30.09 | 4 is way better than anything on this list. Give it a few more listens and you'll see. | ChildOfHate
11.30.09 | 1 and 3 are amazing. Though i think MMLP may just be a hair better than 3. Good list. | Masochist
11.30.09 | In a year full of top-quality albums, I can't say #1 is album of the year. But it is a contender. And "House of Flying Daggers" is in the top 3 songs of the year, without a doubt. | LordSalohcin21
12.01.09 | they weren't ranked in any particular order, just what i thought of first. |
