My Soundwave

Well, on Sunday I went to Syndey Soundwave which was epic (and I got pretty badly burnt as well). Organisers were shit as usual, but at least there was easier access to free water, even if this meant closing off the main stages more, and the main stages running an hour late turned out well for me because I got to see about 5 bands I didn't think I would.
1Rolo Tomassi

Started the day off with these guys, pretty solid and funny watching them set up. Lead singer is such a babe, but terrifying at the same time (which only makes her hotter again). Too bad she seemed to be hooking up with the Gallows guitarist.
2Gallows

Fuck me, this pit almost killed me (I'm really unfit..and small). But awesome. Human pyramids, walls of death and screamed lyrics ftw. My friend accidently punched Frank Carter in the mouth, and much to my surprise he turned out to be a really nice guy.
3Isis

Good chill music after the intensity of Gallows.
4Eagles of Death Metal

Saw them by pure coincidence, boring as.
5Alexisonfire

Saw the start of their set, they were alright not that great.
6Glassjaw

I think their stage was running early, because I got there 15mins before they were meant to play and they were already on stage, I dunno if I missed anything. But they were great, and Palumbo was hilarious. Weird, the drummer looked absolutely terrified of him.
7Paramore

Quite pleased I got to see them, didn't expect to. Williams is hot live and can still sing well too.
8Placebo

Great set, played a spruced up version of Sleeping With Ghosts (my favourite song) and not too much of their new album, which was great for me. By this time I was exhausted though and I zoned out several times.
9AFI

Didn't expect much, but they were quite fun live. I guess 15 years of experience teaches you how to put on a good show. By the time it ended the day was cooling down, thank god.
10Dance Gavin Dance

Only caught the end because I got my times mixed up, but thank god, because they were absolute shit. I've never heard a band play so badly.
11Anti-Flag

Awesome awesome set, and one I didn't think I'd get to see. Actually more intense than Gallows due to its political nature. I had to leave the pit before it finished though, because it felt like my arms were on fire (yay sunburn!)
12Jimmy Eat World

Boring live. Sound the same as in studio and don't put on a show at all.
13Faith No More

Didn't like them before hand, but I gotta admit they were pretty fucking amazing live. Only saw part of their set though, I left early to catch
14This Is Hell

Small crowd, fun pit, crap drumming, good way to end out the day.
