| Some Albums That I, Or Sputnik, Have Ignored And Suck Eternally In Doing So
These are albums that have either been ignored/undiscovered by myself or sputnik, or in some cases criminally overlooked in general on Best Of lists for whatever year they came out in and upon listening, will at some point facepalm in light of our ignorance. And yes, some are albums I like that sputnik should be listening to because well, I'm usually right about things like this. | 1 | | Tyler The Creator Bastard
It's the best fucking rap album I've heard in years. Makes the sad attempts by the current middle-age "gangsters" look weak and prove that Gen Y is in good hands without a doubt. If you could consider Odd Future the disturbed little brother to the Wu-Tang Clan, Tyler is most definitely their RZA and the guy to watch out for. Bastard is an album any veteran wished they could write, with the most fucked-up emotionally-charged lyrics since MMLP, better beats than 95% of the established producers around, a flow that brings to mind MF Doom, Lil' B and early Eminem, and still the hip-hop album to beat of 2010 as far as I'm concerned. And he's fucking 19. Swag. | 2 | | Candiria Kiss The Lie
Remember Tool's 10,000 Days and how it sucked? What if it didn't suck? Then you'd have this album. This is more like 50,000 Days at least, with the extra 40,000 being AWESOME days. | 3 | | Whole Wheat Bread Hearts Of Hoodlums
An album that everyone should honestly kick themselves in the ass for not knowing about it when doing 2009's Best Of list (and it came out JANUARY). One of the finest punk/rap/pop/r&b/reggae/acoustic/thrash albums I've heard wait what? | 4 | | Prince 20Ten
Probably Prince's best album overall since Musicology. | 5 | | Bad Astronaut Whole discography
I know some people know of them, but this band was the definition of "criminally neglected" in general. Houston We Have A Drinking Problem and Twelve Steps are legitimately two of the very best albums of the last decade hands-down. | 6 | | Depeche Mode Whole discography
Seriously, the fact that a band as influential in the development of modern techno/ambient/trance/electronic/industrial/alternative/metal/rock music gets so little notice in general is a little weird. Their last two albums in particular have been great return-to-forms with pretty heavy critical acclaim. | 7 | | Domo Genesis Rolling Papers
One of the best produced, catchiest hip-hop records of the year while being the best smoke sesh album this year without a doubt. "Supermarket" is full of EPIC win on every level. | 8 | | Filter The Trouble With Angels
The best modern rock album of 2010. Yes, it's better than Alter Creed. | 9 | | Revolutions Per Minute Reflection Eternal
Talib Kweli and DJ Hi-Tek. FuckingDUH. | 10 | | The OneUps Super Mario Kart
Classical guitar renditions of the themes from Super Mario Kart on SNES. If that doesn't immediately sound like the greatest thing ever, go kill yourself its not like you have a soul | |

10.08.10 | 2's comparison to Tool confuses me. Don't they sound like DEP with rapping? | StrizzMatik
10.08.10 | Well they used to at a time, but they don't rap and Kiss The Lie sounds nothing like their other stuff except for a few moments. | Deviant.
10.08.10 | "The best modern rock album of 2010. Yes, it's better than Alter Creed."
Album's okay, nothing more and nothing less | StrizzMatik
10.09.10 | But that describes pretty much ALL modern rock, and in that sense, it's still the best even if the "best" is a semi-consistent 3.5 | Deviant.
10.09.10 | No it doesn't. There's good rock, bad rock and great rock. Me saying that the album is okay isn't summing all rock at all | acorncheese
10.09.10 | Didn't even know Whole Wheat Bread was still together. |
