11.10.12 | My friend has that 50 watt Jet City head with the matching cab. It sounds quite good for what he spent on it but damn it is just too loud to get any power tube warmth out of it. Also that amp helped confirm I'm not an EL34 kind of guy.
And yo, how did you get your hands on a Flashback x4? That thing is massive...
Also props for the Joyo. I've owned (and still own) several of their pedals. That tubescreamer clone they have, the Vintage Overdrive, is flawless. |

11.11.12 | @bloc, the jet city heads are biased ridiculously cold out of the factory to guarantee maximum tube life but at the detriment of the tone since the tubes only really get hot when maxed. when I first got my 20 watter the tone was good but a little flat, when I took it to my amp guy I had him set the bias to hot when he retubed it with JJ's and the difference was night and day. |

I was rocking an Orange Dark Terror (15 watt head) up until a few weeks ago when I picked up a Laney VH100R biased for 6l6's off ebay at a pretty incredible deal. It was less than a third of the new list price. Probably the best head I've ever played. Amazing tones all the way around. Right now I've got a beat-to-hell Marshall 1960 that I'm probably gonna be swapping some speakers in soon. |

I really love my rig, but there's a few more tweaks I'm gonna make to it. |

I've heard the one with the Alnico Blues speakers is even louder. |

11.11.12 | Yeah C2 is the one with the Greenbacks. I've never played a C2X(current one with blues) specifically, but I have played AC30's with blues in them. I wouldn't say they are any louder, but the speakers themselves will break up faster than the Greenbacks.
And I wouldn't say it's too loud, but what would you be using it for? |

It gets fairly loud as you crank the volume but can handle playing at lower volumes as well. An extra speaker doesn't add much volume until you get to levels involving speaker distortion. If it's a concern though Vox makes a 1x12 15 watt version called the AC15C1. |
