Iluvatar's Top 10 Singles of '06

So, I sit here and reflect on the singles that have really caguth my attention this year.
1 Yellowcard
Rough Landing Holly

I really couldn't believe what I was hearing when I first listened to this song; Yellowcard had made a fantastic song. The violin intro is sublime, and the entire song is perfect pop bliss.
2 Gnarls Barkely
Crazy

Even when this album has grown stale for me, this song continues to please. It's really quite simple and innocuous, featuring a standard song structure and a rather repetitive beat. Somehow, though, its just impossibly, mind-numbingly awesome.
3 Muse
Supermassive Black Hole

The song, while completely against what most Muse fans were expecting, was still incredibly awesome. It's easily the catchiest Muse song of all time, and the fuzzy guitar riff is insanely air guitar worty.
4 The Killers
When You Were Young

The Killers always had great singles. Mr Brightside, anyone? But When You Were Young surpasses any other single they've produced; it sounds timeless already, and I expect it to be one of the songs on heavy rotation on the "00's Classic Hits" channel in 30 years.
5 Christina Aguilera
Ain't No Other Man

There aint no other man butyou, babe.
6 Justine Timberlake
My Love

Despite the fact I hate TI, this song somehow managed to make me get all giddy when I first heard it. It's really flowing and smooth, and much better than "SexyBack"
7 She Wants Revenge
Tear You Apart

It's incredibly dark, moody, and biting. It goes on for theperfect length of time, the vocals are delivered perfectly, and they're all insanely memorable.
8 Taking Back Sunday
MakeDamnSure

It's really poppy, really overproduced, and really kickass. It shouldnt be a good song, but it is, and thats what makes most singles.
9 Sparta
Taking Back Control

Yeah, this single just came out, but its still awesome. Jim Ward has really come along as a singer, and he knows how to make the perfect arrangements for choruses.
10 NOFX
Seeing Double at the Triple Rock
