04.25.08 | fuck the sex pistols. they were all image. GBH and The Exploited should be way higher... |

04.25.08 | No mate.
1.GBH and the Exploited just repeated their material on every album which is a lack of artisitc drive and gets very boreing and they use the punk image to the extreme. It's not about the uniform of mohawks and tattoos.
2. The Sex Pistols were the most influential punk band. If it weren't for them you wouldn't have GBH or The Exploited, or most bands on this list. Slag off the Pistols if you want but you can't slag off the legacy and the influence they had on other bands.
Or are you one these narrow minded guys who thinks punk should just be hard core. |
ASberg
04.25.08 | Sounds like you think they invented punk. Sex Pistols were influential, yes. But that doesnt mean they are any good. And talk about narrow minded, they made one album. You dont think they wouldnt have made another one just like it if they could? They just happend to be in the right place at the right time. In other words, the press loved em. |

04.25.08 | True they got huge press coverage, mostly beacuse people in England had never seen or heard anything like it before. McClaren was using them to make his name, the bastard. And yes they weren't the best musicians. But they were the largest influence at the time. Even The Clash claimed them to be their main influence. They only made one album because they fell apart, largely because of the musically useless Sid Visious and his smack addiction. And I don't believe they invented punk. They just brought it to a larger audience. |

04.25.08 | Influence =/= being good. Hence Sex Pistols sucking horribly. |

04.25.08 | Glad to see The Clash and Stiff Little Fingers in their rightful place. And I think the Sex Pistols suck, but that's just me.
Definite lack of Subhumas and Discharge though. |

04.25.08 | I know some might prefer to call them "post punk," even if they were around in the heyday of punk, but WHERE IS THE WIRE. |
