03.11.09 | A lot of great stuff here. Jeru the Damaja, Public Enemy, Eric B & Rakim and Digable Planets are all among my favorite rap artists. Gravediggaz is alright as long as you're not expecting anything too serious. You have to listen to Nas' Illmatic if you haven't though, it's one of the best hip-hop albums of all time. |

03.11.09 | some POWERFUL stuff on this list. 26 is one of my favorite hip hop albums ever made, and 23 is one of my favorite rappers. other faves: 1, 3, 5, 8, 11 (i love the laid-back rhymes), 13 (easily my favorite rapper out of the wu), 15, 16, 18, 32, 33, 35, 37, and 38
my recommendations:
Cam'ron - Purple Haze (he has a really laid-back yet aggressive style which IMO is reminiscent of EPMD, he has a verse on Lifestylez ov da Poor and Dangerous)
Clipse - Hell Hath No Fury
Curren$y - Fast Times at Ridgemont Fly (easily one of my favorite new rappers)
UGK - Underground Kingz
KMD - Black Bastards (mf doom before he became mf doom)
Kool G Rap and DJ Polo - Wanted Dead or Alive |
