I'm not planning on never listening to anything pre-2011, I'm just prioritizing new music because I want to stay on top of the trends in 2011. I've been getting more and more into contemporary music, and the historical context of an album's release is often very important. listening to an awesome album from 2008 is all well and good, but without being in the middle of the turmoil/current events/whatever of 2008, the album means less. it doesn't mean it's not worth getting. I just want to hear what bands are saying about 2011 so far, so I'll be prioritizing them.
I'm also prioritizing that Trapped Under Ice album, just so you know.
