| Modern guitarists that show creativity
Instead of just 'chugga-chugga' simple power chords or riffs, these guitarists show variety and chops... | 1 | Jonas Rydberg (BURST)
Listen to anything off Origo...In particular "Flight's End". | 2 | Teppei Teranishi (THRICE)
Brings some real creativity to an otherwise stale genre. Awesome guitarist. | 3 | Mark Engles (DREDG)
This guy has a got a real ear for a sucker melody. I love his playing on Leitmotif. | 4 | Rene Rutten (theGATHERING)
Not the flashiest player, but has almost perfected the art of beautiful textured playing. Uses theremin with a lot of skill. | 5 | Peter Lindgren (OPETH)
Another obvious choice, this man inspired me to play the guitar differently. Best acoustic melodies in music...ever.. | |

08.16.06 | Meh | The Jungler
08.16.06 | YOu should look into Indie music and/or post rock. There are guitarists a hell of alot more creative than some of these guys. | C20H25N3O
08.16.06 | Omar should be on here. /fanboy | weerez1391
08.16.06 | Teppei = Greatness | wikuk
08.16.06 | Machine Head - In Flames - Tool - Deftones | FlawedPerfection
08.16.06 | As much as I love dredg, Engles isn't that creative. | Acey
08.16.06 | wikuk, the deftones is nu-metal. if any nu-metal guitarist was to be on that list it would be Dan Donegan of Disturbed | ktstein
08.16.06 | The guy from The Fall of Troy should be on here...he's righteous! | fatihcoskuny
12.26.20 | teppei is so fkin good | Rammbrecher
12.26.20 | In my opinion, the late Wayne Static (formerly of Static-X) should be in here. He was never a super technical player, but he knew how to write heavy, dynamic riffs, and for the most part, I think he has one of the best metal guitar tones ever. |
