The Fatal Sputnik Flaw

On Sputnik recently I've realised the staff has pure monopoly over the new releases. That leaves regular users to deal with the detritus that nobody cares about and no-one will read. I like reviewing for this site because it undoubtedly improves my writing style and it's a good way to discuss music with other people who are similarly obsessed, but I now realise the staff on this site jump on a new album before anyone else has the chance to review it, and of course the users are going to agree with the staff. It's a shame because Sputnik used to be a truly user content site, now it's a staff content site with people like me fluffing it out with artists who i feel haven't been reviewed enough, which I enjoy doing and do enjoy the feedback - but that's the core issue, there is very rarely feedback because the albums I am forced to do (don't twist those words, you know what i mean!) don't get much hang time on here, while Big Boi for example is stickied for weeks on end. Don't get me wrong I don't really want to review a lot of new stuff but I'd like the chance, instead of it being put on someones list to do and then uploaded immediately the day an album comes out. Just sucks to be a regular user on this site nowadays (some staff not included)
