09.19.17 | editing and content are good, but some people just don't have 'it' (puns) when it comes to their voice/presentation.
kudos man. i'm sure you are a generous lover though. |

09.19.17 | Damn, I'll be sure to be more aware of that in the future

09.20.17 | good video but i thought the new movie was boring
liked the original more and even that i think is not good |

09.20.17 | Thanks guys, appreciate it Byrnes! Ya gotta let me know what you think Con!
What didn't you like about it tempest? |

09.20.17 | neek this was really really good!!
i like that central point of good remakes being able to pick out faults in the original a lot. next time though, i'd spend more time picking apart specific examples and explaining how they've improved on the original, just so you have something concrete supporting your argument.
other than that though, once you smooth out the rough edges and find your voice stylistically, you'll be sorted. great stuff man. |

09.20.17 | Haven't seen the new movie yet but It is my favourite Stephen King by far. I was quite young when I read it but the parallel structure completely blew me away and redefined how I thought about story plotting. Also, throughout the novel I wondered why Beverly kept thinking about crows flying away from telephone lines and what the fuck that could be about, so when the gang bang in the sewers happened I was just left with a ball of complex and conflicted emotions about what just happened and few works of fiction have ever made me feel that way. I have a hard time believing the movie will do any sort of justice to the novel (especially since it omits an entire timeline) but I'm optimistic about it. Now I just have to find someone I can chloroform and drag to the theatre with me. |

09.20.17 | i found it generic modern horror garb. the scares weren't scary. there was no subtlety, e.g. the scene where they were looking at the slides. idk i just wasn't entertained watching it.
also some nitpicky shit like every other shot in the film was a dutch angle and it got super annoying, or all the kids were in a group then one would see something and walk away without anybody else noticing (this happened like 4 times). |

09.20.17 | I thought it was really good, much better than the mini series. I'm looking forward to part 2. I never read the novel despite being a big King fan, but I imagine it's one of his better adaptations since they're pretty much all famously bad (I'm one of the few people who hates The Shining because of how much it absolutely ruins everything good about the book) |

09.20.17 | That said, I didn't find it "scary", but I find very few horror films scary anymore. I don't really watch them for scares so much as the story and this film did a very good job of telling a compelling story amidst the horror that was befalling them. |

09.20.17 | Thanks a bunch LandDiving I'll be sure to keep that in mind next time around :)
You'll have to tell me what you think artis! |

09.20.17 | I suppose those are some good points tempest, surprised I didn't notice the Dutch angle thing
|

09.20.17 | And yeah Astral I watch horror more for the story and style than anything haha so I'm with you there, let me know what you think of the video if you get a chance! |
Astral Abortis
09.20.17 | I watched your video and enjoyed your points but where you ended, I was more expecting the video to really start and analyse what made IT an effective remake. I feel like you could have continued and extrapolated more detail, because the end of the video was like "Oh just when I thought he was steamrolling into some really good points, it ends." |

Agreed so fucking hard bro. |

09.20.17 | I also have a passion for old school b-horror because when I was a child I was devastatingly frightened of all that gory stuff but now it's just good for the goofs |

09.20.17 | a good remake is one made from a movie that is not a stone cold classic, as the first IT was a made for tv movie and not very good at that the knew IT which I havent seen should be pretty good, or if it was like 50 years ago
Take the Halloween remakes from R ZOmbie, the first Halloween is considered by many (me included) to be the best slasher movie of all time, we know the lines when the scares come and everything, There was no way that the remake was going to come anywhere near the first regardless of how good it was.
There has been 4-5 remakes of the Thing, but none were so good that it became the standard so the remakes work |

09.21.17 | That's what I say in the video wham lol |
