Live shows so far

Bands I've seen in chronological order and a (very) rough estimate of the record they were touring
1Vampire Weekend
Modern Vampires of the City

I'm not sure having seen them has much of an impact on me now, but it was a great first concert and that's all it needed to be.
2Arctic Monkeys
AM

Judging from the show, I feel like they're kind of a douche magnet fan-wise, but still a good enough live band.
3Matt and Kim
New Glow

I don't like most of their stuff, but they were playing a free show at a nearby college and I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy myself. A little bro-ish for me but still fun.
4Arctic Monkeys
AM

Same as 2, except in a way less cramped venue
5Cloud Nothings
Here and Nowhere Else

It was a free show, not unlike 3. They weren't on as long as I necessarily would've liked because of that, but they still played long enough to keep me happy. They had cops instead of security guards used to dealing with fans, and if memory serves me right that created some problems, but otherwise a good show.
6Sebadoh
Defend Yourself

Sebadoh were great live and I got to awkwardly fanboy at Lou Barlow. Nice guy. Good times.
7Local H
Hey, Killer

I went because a friend of mine at the time was a huge fan. Good show, if not totally etched in my memory.
8Craig Finn
Faith In The Future

Double bill w/ nine. His solo stuff's kind of boring, but the highlight of his set was The Hold Steady's "Certain Songs" with Titus Andronicus' keyboard player helping out. Got to talk to him and he was really cool.
9Titus Andronicus
The Most Lamentable Tragedy

Titus Andronicus are probably my favorite band of the last ten-fifteen years, and they were just blistering. Even through a pretty big lineup change (the show was how I found out Eric and Julian left the band), they had an insane amount of energy. Better yet, it ended with a "Bastards of Young" cover with Craig on vocals. I met Patrick Stickles and he talked to me about why I should be listening to the Violent Femmes.
10Dead Kennedys
Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables

Does it really count without Jello Biafra? Either way, I had a good enough time and I'm surprised I survived that pit (by the kindest of estimates, I'm 5'7" and 120 pounds)
11Built to Spill
Untethered Moon

They were playing as a 3-piece but still sounded top notch. I wish maybe they played more from Perfect From Now On (and the songs they played "Stop the Show" and "Untrustable" are probably my least favorite from the record), but I couldn't honestly say they were anything but killer. That and Doug Martsch is one of the nicest people in music.
12Dinosaur Jr.
Give a Glimpse of What Yer Not

So great and so loud, so very very loud. They struck me as way less banter-heavy than Sebadoh, but I guess that's not surprising if you've ever heard J Mascis talk. They were everything I hoped they would be and I'm surprised at how not awful my ears felt having seen them.
