06.19.14 | Come on guys, it's worth celebrating that he's digging 1,2,4,9 and 10. You guys realize his good band collection just increased like 500% |

06.19.14 | dude is in that phase where he just hasn't gotten used to harsh vocals yet so they all sound like shit to him. makes me nostalgic for my younger days when i went through the same transition. acquire a taste for those harsh vox or don't and miss out on a lot of great shit |

06.19.14 | @OurDailyFred no insult to you, dude. Everyone comes here to explore more music and dig deeper into what they already like. I think Breaking Benjamin was in my top 5 a while back. From the start I could tell you like "melodic" metal, so if you're digging 9 and 10 you have to listen to Dream Theater - Images and Words. |

06.19.14 | I will check that out thank you. |

06.19.14 | Nice to see you dig Rush and Porcupine Tree. You will eventually start liking Opeth. At first they seem chaotic, but then something will cling inside your head. At least that's what happened with me. At first I couldn't stand them.
Also, pluh-ease check Pain of Salvation - Remedy Lane. I really want to know what you think. |

06.19.14 | I laughed at the Death comment, but I think you just don't get it, which is fine |

For Queensryche, keep in mind that their best albums are the first five (especially Rage for Order, Operation: Mindcrime and Empire, because the rest is harder to get into). Then they went downhill (not everything is horrible, but most of it is). They born again with the last self titled though. |

06.19.14 | "The next one started off the same, and then inexplicably became death metal. Again, I respect the talent, but I believe it to be wasted."
lol it sounds like you really get what they're going for! |

2.5- I listened to a few more of their tracks, and while I love the guitar and percussion, the vocals are horrendous. I cannot stand them. He sounds like an ape getting his nuts torn off.
lmfao apes are cool bro |
Funeralopolis
06.19.14 | It is honestly hard for me to believe that people actually think harsh vocals sound like dizzying barking and getting your nuts ripped off. I mean like chuck isn't even harsh at all, his screams borderline on singing. |

lol I wouldn't have put it this way, I usually just call it ugly growling.
Glad you liked Faith No More! |

06.19.14 | Who was the idiot that rec'd opeth to him? |
Emyay
06.19.14 | the dude who rec'd him opeth is an idiot, why? because he rec'd him awesome music that this user is not worthy of? makes sense |

06.19.14 | i was thinking, if you'd like, check also Burst - Lazarus Bird. Slipknot-like vocals but much much better music quality! |

06.20.14 | If you like Rush, go with Dream Theater's Images and Words plus Metropolis Pt 2. And Haken (not their first album since you don't do growls). As for the growling, that's just how it is at first. I hated Opeth when I first heard The Leper Affinity, came back to it months later and it slowly grew on me and now they're one of my all time favorites (they're great in the right atmosphere, especially in Winter). Check their album Damnation, it's their take on softer prog without growls and it's fantastic. |
