The Mars Volta Wannabe Bands Ranked

It was more than 10 years ago when an awesome band created a perfect mixture of Jazz, rrNoiserock, psychedelic rock and some other genres. Now the so called "prog" scene is full of rbands who wish they were TMV. There are just too many of these bands so I ranked some of rthe most popular ones.
1The Fall Of Troy
Phantom on the Horizon

These guys decided to add some post-hardcore and mathrock to the mix. They sound awesome. They're clearly the best band on the list.
2Closure in Moscow
Pink Lemonade

This band isn't as creative (and nowhere near as good) as The Fall Of Troy but they're still worth listening to. Without a doubt, this album is their best by far(!).
3Dance Gavin Dance
Happiness

Similar to 1 but unlike TFOT they mixed TMV with some MODERN post-hardcore. But sometimes it just doesn't work. They aren't bad, it's not their fault that they aren't as good at writing breakdowns as BMTH or TDWP. DGD's breakdowns are often just something like XXX---XXX---XXX---XXX---XXXXXXXX or XXX-XXX- etc
4A Lot Like Birds
No Place

ALLB is somewhere between TFOT and DGD. No Place is a great album. The only reason why I can't get into them is the singer. His voice often annoys me.
5Strawberry Girls
French Ghetto

These guys are quite enjoyable. But they lack originality. Most bands on the list are heavily influenced by both TMV and TFOT but they aren't DIRECT RIPOFFS. This band - however - is. (aside from lacking vocals)
