09.30.14 Favorite Punk / Pop Punk / Emo / Ska Al04.28.14 Cool Punk/Pop-Punk/Emo Bands

Favorite Punk / Pop Punk / Emo / Ska Albums Of All Time

Here are my top favorite albums from my top favorite genres. If you have any rec's, that would be appreciated.
1Taking Back Sunday
Tell All Your Friends

I heard this album when I was 12 and i still to this day come back to it and listen to it all the way through.
2American Football
American Football

Whenever I listen to American Football, I am instantly transported to Tibet where I am meditating and smoking very potent weed with monks. It's that good.
3The Hippos
Heads Are Gonna Roll

This is an incredibly underrated pop/ska record. True, some parts sound like Smashmouth but for the most part it's amazing.
4The Wonder Years
The Greatest Generation

Even though I know all the words they still hit me and the album gels perfectly as a whole piece.
5Scarlett Avenue
- On The Mend -

This is a local band from my hometown and this album is extremely relateable, catchy and well done. Check them out if you haven't already.
6Red City Radio
The Dangers of Standing Still

My whole infatuation with midwestern gruff-punk music came because of RCR. These punk anthems never grow old.
7Banner Pilot
Heart Beats Pacific

Although Banner Pilot writes the same song over & over I still love them to death. Simple yet sweet.
Ordinary Silence

Ryan of this band is the most honest and funny man alive. His band, though controversial has songs that are well written and makes me feel like I'm in Ohio with him while listening.
9Forever Came Calling

Forever Came Calling really took me by surprise. On first listen I clumped them into the stereotypical pop-punk bands but me seeing them live changed that big time. Can't put this album down.
10Macklemore and Ryan Lewis
The Heist

Though Macklemore isn't a punk band I thought I'd throw him in here because his lyrics are clever, up front and honest and really drew me into rap and hip hop more than anyone I'd ever heard.
11My Chemical Romance
The Black Parade

MCR is the band that really drew me into punk surprisingly. Through them I found out about blink-182; and before I knew it i was here.
12Relient K

Though a few lyrics make me roll my eyes the melodies and instrumentals are stellar. This album is a classic front to back.
13 Captain, We're Sinking
The Future Is Cancelled

This album is so perfectly written in every sense.
14The Menzingers
On The Impossible Past

No explanation needed.
15Dillinger Four
Versus God

This album has incredible melodies and if you really think on it, NO other bands sound like Dillinger Four.
16Four Year Strong
Enemy of the World

I am not a fan of Easycore but this album kicks ass on so many levels. Unique in every sense.
17The Get Up Kids
Something to Write Home About

This album is amazing, quirky and sad. Love it with all my soul.
18The Hold Steady
Boys and Girls In America

I am annoyed by Craig Finn's face but his lyrics are a whole other story.
19The Hotelier
Home, Like NoPlace Is There

I cried.
24 Hour Revenge Therapy

I got pumped.

This truly is heartbreaking music.
22The Lawrence Arms
Oh! Calcutta!

This is my jam...sometimes.
23Less Than Jake
Hello Rockview

Less Than Jake have been at it so long and have been because...um...they're good.
24Motion City Soundtrack
Commit This To Memory

A well written, perfectly produced pop album. Solid stuff.
25None More Black
This Is Satire

His voice is so unique and the songs are so well written.
26Outlook (SD)
Wearing Thin - Single

I can't go through this and not advertise for my band. Check us out - outlooksd.bandcamp.com
27The Promise Ring
Nothing Feels Good

This is rockin', you should listen to it.
28Queens Club
Young Giant

Stumbled across them on accident. A fun, dancy, indie pop record.
29Say Anything
Say Anything

I have loved every Say Anything release over the years and this is by far my favorite.
I Hate Music

Mixtapes frequently rips off Superchunk and i fully understand why and appreciate it.
31The Story So Far
Under Soil and Dirt

Though many things this band does annoys me I still can appreciate this album.
32Short Stories
When Love Is Lost

This EP is played into my ears at least once a day. Super catchy & emotional.
33Touche Amore
Is Survived By

This is one of the best albums ever. Get on it.
34 Underoath
They're Only Chasing Safety

It saddens me to see how few kids nowaday know of Underoath.
35The Weakerthans
Reconstruction Site

This band shreds.
36 You Blew It!
Keep Doing What You're Doing

Contrary to popular belief I think this is YBI!'s best release ever. It makes all other music look like...bad music.
Ocean Avenue

This is the only Yellowcard album i actually enjoy, because after this they started sounding like a christian rock band.
38The Ergs!

This is the weirdest punk album ever made but I listen to it quite often and you should too.
American Radass (This Is Important)

This band blew me away live and their lyrics and instrumentals are face-melting.
40Circa Survive

Every album Circa Survive puts out is great but this EP is the bomb.net.
