| My Favorite 10 Talking Heads Songs
What I expect from you guys: List needs "insert overrated hit song" ;) | 10 | | Talking Heads Fear of Music
"Animals" I always find that their best songs are the random ones. Being paranoid
about animals laughing at you while being useless? Amazing. | 9 | | Talking Heads True Stories
"Papa Legba" By far the best song on True Stories (an album ridden with filler), this
stands out as a funky afro-beat of awesomeness. | 8 | | Talking Heads Remain in Light
"Houses in Motion" The vocals in the chorus are perfect, the guitar is funky. Just
everything about this song is danceable. | 7 | | Talking Heads More Songs About Buildings and Food
"The Good Thing" If this were a top 20 list WAY MORE songs from this album would
have made the list, but as for the top 10, this song is the best with its kiddy back-up
vocals and crazy pickup at the end. | 6 | | Talking Heads Little Creatures
"Television Man" This song goes in about 5 different directions, which all pan out
flawlessly while also being an interesting commentary on television. "Television made me
what I am" That neurotic genius. | 5 | | Talking Heads Speaking in Tongues
"Pull up the Roots" Sang perfectly, this song trumps "Burning Down the House" at
every turn. The music is some of their catchiest. The outro blows me away. | 4 | | Talking Heads Fear of Music
"I Zimbra" Anyone who can make gibberish into one of the best songs ever deserves
an award. Those weird guitar notes are so sweet. | 3 | | Talking Heads Remain in Light
"Crosseyed and Painless" The music is even paranoid in this song. It's the
centerpiece of neurosis. The rap part towards the end is one of the best things ever.
STILL WAITING. | 2 | | Talking Heads Fear of Music
"Cities" Talking Heads have so many songs either dissing the country side of praising
cities, and this one is by far the most catchy, most playful, and silliest of them all. The guitar
is infectious. | 1 | | Talking Heads Talking Heads: 77
"No Compassion" Lead singer David Byrne was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome
and this song kind of makes it obvious, but it still gives an interesting point of view.
"Be a little more selfish, it might do you some good." "My interesting level is
dropping, My interesting level is dropping" "What are you in love with your
problems?" The guitar on it is probably their best ever, and that pause in the song has so
much suspense. It should have been the album's closer, but oh well. | |

03.27.14 | I never really dug this band's vocal style, but im thinking of giving these guys another chance. any ideas where to start? | ArsMoriendi
03.27.14 | @emester: More Songs About Buildings and Food offers the most diversity so start there, but be sure you check out Fear
of Music and Remain in Light also. All 3 are masterpieces.
| ArsMoriendi
03.27.14 | @Frippertronics: It's funny you say that. "Blind" almost made the list. It's basically #11. | EaglesBecomeVultures
03.27.14 | sweet list, born under punches is my #1 | laughingman22
03.27.14 | born under punches and this must be the place have to be my favorite two | Artuma
03.27.14 | i love the overload tbh | ArsMoriendi
03.27.14 | I love "Born Under Punches", it'd probably make a top 20 list . "The Overload" is good too, but not even close to my
favorite. Their first 6 albums are pretty consistently good anyway. | sleepdirt
03.27.14 | Some of the funnest songs to sing along with! | Yazz_Flute
03.27.14 | Born Under Punches, The Great Curve, Psycho Killer! | EaglesBecomeVultures
