Best To Worst Pink Floyd Albums
The best to worst studio albums by Pink Floyd (in my opinion) |
1 | | Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here
Hands down the best Pink Floyd album, and best album in general. The amount of
emotion this record manages to put into your ears is just magical. |
2 | | Pink Floyd The Dark Side of the Moon
A masterpiece that deserves all the recognition it gets. I don't think there's much
more to describe for this album. |
3 | | Pink Floyd The Wall
This is the album that made me discover Pink Floyd. It's heavy, dark, catchy,
depressing, epic, thought-provoking and over all, a very important album in the
history of music. |
4 | | Pink Floyd Animals
This album is very interesting, to say the least. The lyrics are very straight-forward
and thought-provoking and the instrumentation is pretty heavy and atomspheric. |
5 | | Pink Floyd The Piper at the Gates of Dawn
The best way to describe this album is to say that it feels alot like you're smoking
tons of weed and then go to watch old cartoons, twentyfour hours straight. That is
this album, and it's one hell of a experience. |
6 | | Pink Floyd The Division Bell
A fantastic conclusion to the history of one of the best bands in music history (if
not THE best). |
7 | | Pink Floyd Meddle
This was the band's ultimate breakthrough. If it weren't for tracks such as "One of
These Days" and "Echoes", we wouldn't have the Pink Floyd we have today. |
8 | | Pink Floyd A Saucerful of Secrets
Such a switch in musical direction in comparison to The Piper of the Gates of Dawn.
Still, there's some really good material on this album, but it's quite clear that the
band was sort of experimenting with different styles of music, which lead to minor
misses. |
9 | | Pink Floyd A Momentary Lapse of Reason
Quite an underrated album. I like the approach Gilmour tried to take with this. It
sort of gives this album it's own identity. It works for the most part, sometimes it
doesn't. Not flawless, just misunderstood. |
10 | | Pink Floyd Obscured by Clouds
I remember digging the hell out of this album when I first heard it. Some pretty
good songs on here, even though some of it seems a bit forgettable. |
11 | | Pink Floyd The Final Cut
This is a Roger Waters solo album. There's no denying in that. But that doesn't
make it automaticly bad. The lyrics are as thought-provoking as in previous albums
like DSotM or The Wall, but the instrumentation seem a bit repetitive. And was I
the only one who thought Roger sounded a bit akward on vocals on some of the
songs? |
12 | | Pink Floyd Ummagumma
Well, the live recordings are great. No denying in that. It's the studio recordings
that kind of leave me scratching my head. It's obvious that they really were trying
to find something to work with on this album. It just feels very forced. The only
thing that makes rank this record slightly higher is the live recordings. Overall,
Ummagumma is a bit of a mess. |
13 | | Pink Floyd More
It starts off good, but slowly becomes more boring and forgettable for each track.
Multiple songs just felt like the band were jamming instead of playing complete
songs, which is a shame. This album really has alot of potential, but just digs itself
deeper into it's own grave. |
14 | | Pink Floyd Atom Heart Mother
I don't know. Despite numerous listens, I still don't seem to like this as much as
their other albums. Many parts of the album seem very akward, even pointless at
times. There are tracks I enjoyed like "Atom Heart Mother Suite" and "If", and that's
about it. It just seemed as if the band was pointing fingers at things and trying to
come up with more clever ideas. While, this album may be unique, it just didn't work
out for me. It's a shame, really. |
