02.22.17 | Living Sacrifice >>>
|
Danred97
02.22.17 | I'd probably agree with you, but I haven't decided on what rating to give Scaterd Few yet. Living Sacrifice is the most consistent band on the list for sure though. |
danielito19
02.22.17 | i prefer islamic alternative bands |
Koris
02.22.17 | Kevin Max - Stereotype Be |

Emim
02.22.17 | Well for starters, all of Living Sacrifice's albums from Reborn forward are worth listening to.
Galactic Cowboys
Extol
Zao
Phinehas
Believer
Theocracy
As Cities Burn
The Chariot
Norma Jean
Maylene and the Sons of Disaster
Once Nothing
Spoken
Project 86
Called to Arms
Woe of Tyrants
Becoming the Archetype
Most of those tend towards the heavier end of the spectrum.
|
Danred97
02.22.17 | I've heard/like most of these. As Cities burn is one of my favorite bands ever. I love Zao, Phinehas, Norma Jean, and Project 86 is okay. I'll check the rest at some point. BTA has my attention at the moment for some reason. |
Koris
02.22.17 | Can't forget Tourniquet and Mortification as well |
Emim
02.22.17 | Well if you like those, I've got plenty more.
Also Jars of Clay's first album is great. |
Danred97
02.22.17 | Jars of Clay? That band that had the song The Flood right? I forgot they even existed. |
Emim
02.22.17 | That's the one. The song Worlds Apart is one of my favorite songs of all time. |
Masochist
02.22.17 | Oh...Starflyer 59 albums. That's hard, they have 14 of them, and soooo many good ones.
'Silver' is their first one, straight heavy, grungy shoegaze like Catherine Wheel. Listen to "Sled" or "Monterey" to get a feel of that album.
'Gold' is the same sound, but much slower.
'Americana' has one of their best songs in "The Voyager," but ultimately I think 'Silver' and 'Gold' are better.
Then you get to 'The Fashion Focus', 'Everyone Makes Mistakes' and 'Leave Here A Stranger', which I think is the peak of their shoegazing sound--not near as heavy as it was with the first three, like if 'Loveless' and 'Slanted and Enchanted' had a baby. If you pick up any of these albums, you probably won't be disappointed, but I might give the nod to 'The Fashion Focus' if you reaaaaally wanted me to choose one. |
Satellite
02.22.17 | can't wait to see you fuckers in hell |
Emim
02.22.17 | We'll be the ones on the outside looking in ;) |
Tyler.
02.22.17 | just play the c choooooooooooooooooord |
Masochist
02.22.17 | Oooh, there are quite a few other alternative Christian bands. I don't know if you were plainly sticking to 90's stuff, but these are not:
My Epic - 'Yet'
Stretch Arm Strong - 'A Revolution Transmission' (I don't actually know if they're Christian, though)
Cool Hand Luke - Any of their last four albums
Showbread - 'No Sir, Nihilism Is Not Practical'
Watashi Wa - 'Eager Seas' or 'The Love of Life' |
elliootsmeuth
02.22.17 | 4 is the goat |
danielito19
02.22.17 | i recommend frank turner his song glory hallelujah is great |
Danred97
02.22.17 | 'Yet' is a fantastic album for sure. I unfortunately just can't get into Showbread though. |
Conmaniac
02.22.17 | missing all the good 90s christian bands smh
dc talk
jars of clay
mxpx
also Switchfoot is really solid esp live but they are newer |
Conmaniac
02.22.17 | oh and Pedro the Lion is super solid even tho he converted to an Athiest shortly after disbanding that project |
Danred97
02.22.17 | Loved dc talk in middle school. Mxpx isn't really my thing. Pedro's IHTFAF is one of my favorite albums of all time. Not a track that isn't absolutely perfect. |
AtomicWaste
02.22.17 | So Long Forgotten
Listen to Beneath Our Noble Heads and s/t from last year
Beneath Our Noble Heads is pretty Christian, but not in an obnoxious way. The band all but confirmed they gave up religion prior to the release of the s/t (which is their last album). Things We Can See is also very Christian, but not all that great. |
Danred97
02.22.17 | Love So Long Forgotten. Their debut is awesome. Their S/T is pretty great as well. |
bloc
02.22.17 | Falling Up |

Veggietales - A Very Veggie Christmas
Hillsong United - Live in Miami
Destroyer 666 - Of Wolves, Women & War
Chris Tomlin - And If Our God Is For Us...
Vomir - Je Me Retire De Moi
Should be something good in there somewhere probably |
Emim
02.22.17 | Falling Up is so damn catchy, bloc.
Also forgot to mention mewithoutYou and needtobreathe. |
geezers1989
02.22.17 | you should peep -
The Deadlines- early work more goth/punk, later work more glam oriented
Dead artist syndrome- Seminal christian goth
Mortal - Industrial although they dabble in many genres
Element 101 - female-fronted pop rock in the vein of flyleaf/paramore but softer
Mae - Indie/Emo peep "The Everglow"
Officer Negative - Hardcore punk (early) metalcore (later)
Beloved - Failure On (post-hardcore)
Sullivan - emo/post-hardcore, closely affiliated with underoath
Chasing Victory - Post hardcore with elements of southern rock
gotta jam Emery too, of course
|
Danred97
02.22.17 | Bloc - I'll check me out.
Thiswastheyear - indeed
Cryptologous - oh Sleeper is tight. Not the biggest Hillsong/Chris Tomlinson fan though.

bloc
02.22.17 | Falling Up starts off slightly nu-metal but with every album they get more alt rock and proggy so it's worth checking out their later albums I think |
JeetJeet
02.23.17 | Anybody mention Still Remains yet? |
Emim
02.23.17 | How about Inhale Exhale? |
