Sputnik's Infinite Playlist

Hey fellow Sputnikers - a lot of people have been saying that the blog feature is dead, and I have an idea that might help spice things up a little bit. I was thinking of doing some kind of quarterly "sputnik mixtape" that contains only new & relevant songs from that particular batch of months. I would make a list getting user votes and input, then turn it into a blog feature that the users can have full interaction with by choosing the songs that go on there and maybe having some of the more consistent/dedicated writers email me very brief soundoffs to accompany the songs. I know we have the track of the day thing for staff, but we obviously don't post one every day and the consistency is shaky compared to other music sites like pitchfork. Plus, I feel like a lot of the posts on this site are album-oriented, and this would give some individual tracks within a specific range of release dates a chance to stand out...and it could be like an ongoing thing or something. So long story short, here's the requirements: (1) Post ONE song between January 1, 2012 and now that you want to add to the playlist (2) Preferrably, make it something that you think needs more exposure. This way people will have a reason to check the blog's playlist instead of it just being songs we already know (3) Post the release date of the album from which the song came, that way I don't have to do all kinds of searching to make sure all the songs are up-to-date (4) shoutbox me if you have a specific interest in writing a soundoff to accompany your vote. Then email me your soundoff at Thanks fellas!
