X-mas Cd List

first 3 are ones i'm fairly sure i'm getting, but rest are... well, you'll rsee.
1Hopsin
Raw
2Earl Sweatshirt
Earl
3Muse
Origin of Symmetry
4Radiohead
In Rainbows

is this really that good? i love okc, like kid a, and think the singles are
almost the only worthwhile songs on the bends, so i'm not totally sold on
radiohead yet.
5 Rise Against
don't know

i like some of their stuff, but haven't heard too much and really don't like
the singer/guitarist's voice that much.
6NOFX
Punk in Drublic

i've checked out a few songs, but they're all so damn short. also, is this
REALLY their best album or is it just another "it's gotta be their best cuz it's
their (first and/or breakthrough) album" albums?
7Nas
Illmatic

i'll take some rap recs, but i don't want anything like this. i've been
thoroughly unimpressed w/ almost all old-school rap i've heard to date. i
don't give two shits about what kind of life struggles a lot of these old-
school rappers had, if the song blows, it blows. i'd def be up for actual
skilled rap like the first two on my list though.
8 Converge

not a fan of stuff like this. not saying it sucks, and i know some people are into really heavy shit like this
and that's great for them, but i just don't find any appeal in constant
screaming.
9 Bob Marley
Streetlight Manifesto

i don't like either of these. obviously i love sublime, but i've had little luck w/ other reggae or ska artists.
i like op ivy and have tried bands like less than jake and streetlight
manifesto, but both of those bands i find have intolerably nasally vocals
and way too much hornage going on. and i've tried pepper and slightly
stoopid, but they're way too much of sublime rips (more so pepper than ss).
i've checked out a little bit of the specials, but are they worth picking
something up from?
10 ridiculous
stipulation

i know i've got shit for this in the past, but i really would rather listen to
artists (except rappers obviously) who have singer/songwriters (lyrically
and musically) all in one. i'd def rather listen to the work of one mind
creating something rather than a hodgepodge of ideas creating this one
song. and i know i'm one of the few who feels this way, but i'm just not a
fan at all of douche singers who act like they own a song that other people
wrote the music for, or like if they come out with a solo album and just
name it their own name. so, yea, singer/songwriters are preferred,
although i'm obviously not ruling anything out (i still like afi and, like i said,
op ivy).
