11.19.11 | Just looking at the top 10 (to stop things getting too convoluted): I found 2 to be initially promising but ultimately disappointing after a few listens, 3 to me displays Frank Turner losing that dry, witty, revolutionary edge that (in my opinion) is what made him great in the first place, 7 seems to be way overblown for what on the basis of things is a(nother) pleasant, indie-pop-with-folk-elements LP and although I'm happy to see Morgan's (of The Romanovs) fingerprints on 10, it just doesn't work for me that well at all - for whatever reason that is. |
