What Took Me So Long?

Every once in a while I finally listen to a band that I've put off listening to for a long time only to realize that they rule incredibly hard. I then start devouring their discography and kicking myself for not getting into them earlier. I'm sure a lot of you are the same way, here are the 5 most recent for me. Post some of yours.
1Low
I Could Live In Hope

My most recent obsession. I first heard their music (the new album, C'mon)
only a couple days ago and pretty much all I have done since then is listen
to them. I'd heard hype around these guys for ages but for some reason
had never checked them out (the "slowcore" tag really irks me). I know it's
early in my obsession but I can definitely see Low becoming one of my
favourite bands in time, and I've only heard two of their albums so far.
2Boris
Boris At Last - Feedbacker

A long long time ago, a friend of mine played me something from their
legendary album 'Pink' and for whatever reason, I was probably on my
period or something, I didn't like it. That stopped me from listening to their
music for a long time. But the combination of the year of Boris and Xeno's
very convincing 5-star review for Feedback wore me down and I eventually
decided to give some of their shit a proper listen. Feedbacker absolutely
floored me the first time I heard it. The only other album I've listened to so
far is Heavy Rocks II and it was also awesome. I have a very large
discography to start working through.

Everything Goes Numb

Ska has never really been my jam, but this album is held in such high
regard that I downloaded it a while ago. But, it'd been rotting in my iTunes
for ages before I finally decided to give it a listen some time last week. I
was immediately grabbed by the awesome trumpet parts and brilliant
lyricism, not to mention the incredible energy of the music. My reaction to
this album has made me rethink my stance on ska: maybe I need to give
the genre a try. (some ska recs would actually be nice if you have any)

The Lack Long After

I've liked hardcore for a while now but for some reason had been putting
off listening to these guys (probably their absolutely awful name). About a
month ago though, a volunteer arrived at my placement who is from
Michigan and listens to a lot of hardcore music (he even screamed for a
band for a little while). He was looking through my iTunes and before too
long he went "woah, you like real screamo?" We got to talking (read:
music-nerding) and started exchanging recs. He mentioned Pianos Become
The Teeth and I said that I had heard great things but never given them a
try. He made me open youtube and look up a music video of theirs (I forget
which song, I think it was from the Saltwater EP) and I was immediately
hooked. This is exactly the style of emo that I love: the post-rock
influenced stuff. He said that the vocals would take a while to sink in but I
loved them immediately, so no problem there. When their new album came
out, I got it immediately and I've been obsessing over it lately. I love their
lyrics so much, especially on The Lack Long After.
5Frank Turner
Love, Ire & Song

I can't for the life of me figure out why I put off listening to Frank Turner for
so long. I just started listening to him two months ago, but from the
second I heard him sing "let's begin at the beginning..." I was hooked.
Never have I given out a 5 faster than I did for Love, Ire & Song. For about
two weeks at the beginning of my Africa trip that album was literally all I
listened to. One of the things I love most about music is that when you
obsess over it (like I tend to do often) you start to associate the memories
of that time with it. I know that I will always be taken back to my safari in
the Maasai Mara (Kenya) when I listen to this album. I remember
everything about my surroundings the moment that I first played this album
on my iPod, and it's a beautiful memory.
