Females Who Don't Get Enough Love

Just some female artists who I feel don't get enough love her on Sputnik. I think all of these albums have less than 100 votes so I think they're in need of some exposure.
14Shannon Wright
Over the Sun
13Sleepingdog
Polar Life
12Rainer Maria
Look Now Look Again

Look Now Look Again is one of the most overlooked albums of the later 90's. Sure, there a lot of bands similar to Rainer Maria but I'll always come back to them because of Caithlin De Marrais.
11Amanda Palmer
Who Killed Amanda Palmer?

Kind of like Jenny Lewis. In the sense that her music with her band is a lot better but at the same time dismissing her solo material is just a big fat no no. Amanda is amazingly gifted and manages to make each and every song of hers fun and exciting.
10Rose Kemp
Unholy Majesty
9Vashti Bunyan
Just Another Diamond Day

If you love Joanna Newsom than there's really no reason not check this album out. Her vocals are a lot better than Newsom's and so much easier on the ears. I still Miss. Joanna but Bunyan came first and I must give praise where praise is due.

7Emily Jane White
Dark Undercoat

Kind of in the same vain as Marissa Nadler. Her music is very haunting but it's still unique in it's own way. She's a great artist who I think has the ability to eventually be better than Nadler if she can learn to stop putting some unnecessary filler on her albums.
6Tiger Trap
Tiger Trap

Best twee pop album ever! 'Nough said. No, but seriously Rose Melberg has one of the cutest voices ever making the album Tiger Trap very accessible and madly addicting.
5Camera Obscura
Let's Get Out of This Country

Tracyanne Campbell has a great voice and is the true standout in this band. She has a sweet school girl voice that is so irresistible that I have to listen to her music in small doses or I'll be hooked for weeks.
4Jenny Lewis
Acid Tongue

Okay, to be fair Rilo Kiley are kind of well known. However, not that many people listen to her solo stuff. Sure, it's nowhere near as good her stuff with the band but it's still enjoyable and fun nonetheless
3Marissa Nadler
The Saga of Mayflower May

Without a doubt one of the most consistent artists working today. She's never failed to impress and keep trying new things in her music. Her music is some of the most beautiful and haunting I've heard in quite some time.
2Anna Ternheim
Somebody Outside

This woman has one of the most beautiful voices I've had the pleasure of listening to and none of her albums have more than ratings votes.
1Neko Case
Blacklisted

Seriously, less than 40 ratings for not only her best album but one of the best albums by any female vocalist of the past 10 years. More people need to pick her stuff up and start listening.
