As I said before, I'm not good with my genres and don't really care for any of them beyond the most general ones. I usually find the best was to describe something is by playing it rather than throwing words at them till they "kind of know" what it is.
North0House2 05.15.11	yeah, good point. I don't tend to rely heavily on genres either, but I always try to know what musical characteristics they include. Check out Slint, June of 44, and Godspeed You! Black Emperor. They're my favorite 90's bands. Superchunk is pretty cool indie as well, so is Built to Spill.

StrangerofSorts 05.16.11	Just so people know: Neutral Milk Hotel/ Boards of Canada/ Oasis/ Pavement/ Elliot Smith/ Sunny Day Real Estate/ Red Hot Chilli Peppers have already been listened to and enjoyed before making this list. Makes me optimistic for the other ones suggested. As far as 90s electronica goes, since someone brought it up, I'm pretty much maxed out with it after I got into it/ IDM/ all that lovely stuff about a year ago.
