Chriso's May Mixtape

Following up on the roaring success of my April mixtape, here is the May installment. No politics, no mention of bodily fluids/poo, no insults and disses, no religion - just music. Sweet sweet music.

"Cover Me (Slowly) / Agoraphobia" - these two kicked my ass. Album never quite lived up to this for me but very impressive anyway.
2Black Star
Black Star

"Thieves In The Night" - some of the best lyrics I've come across in any genre of music.
Kamaal the Abstract

"Barely in Love" - amazing and so underappreciated. The Renaissance is well worth a look too if you're into ATCQ.

"Pleasure Is All Mine" - Everything you hear (or just about everything) is vocals. Pretty cool.
5Black Sabbath

"Planet Caravan" - probably the direct opposite of what alot of Sabbath fans are after but this is magical.
6Charles Mingus
Let My Children Hear Music

"Adagio Ma Non Troppo" - a full band realisation of an improvised solo piano piece off 'Mingus Plays Piano'. Amazingly good.
7Cat Power
You Are Free

8Broken Social Scene
You Forgot It In People

"Almost Crimes"
9Wildbirds & Peacedrums

"The Battle In Water" - more impressive live than on record I think.

"The Queen Is Dead" - clever lyrics.
