My favorite albums in no particular order.
I know I said that there was no order to this thing, but this is probably my favorite album of all time. Either/Or and his s/t come close, but I personally don't think that they can match this.
|2||Neutral Milk Hotel|
In The Aeroplane Over The Sea
I probably shouldn't have to say anything about this one.
Yankee Hotel Foxtrot
One of Wilco's best. Also, I Am Trying To Break Your Heart is a really good documentary if you haven't seen it.
Wilco's other best. This (kind of) simplistic roots rock record is really different from YHF, but is still equally as good.
My favorite alt-country album. It's really interesting to compare Tweedy's songs here with his later stuff with Wilco.
Born To Run
One of the best rock albums ever, every song here is simply wonderful (I even love Meeting Across The River).
|7||The Beach Boys|
Brian Wilson is a genius. Also the vocals are incredible.
Not as long and drawn out as the White Album, not too short like Revolver, and not boring like Let It Be, Abbey Road is just fantastic.
Highway 61 Revisited
Dylan's best album. Blood On The Tracks comes very close, but no cigar.
|10|| ||The Brian Jonestown Massacre|
Their Satanic Majesties Second Request
Such a great psychedelic album
|11||At The Drive-in|
Relationship Of Command
This got me into post-hardcore. Just awesome, energetic and passionate songs all the way through.
The Black Saint And The Sinner Lady
This is wonderful. I almost find it impossible to JUST listen to one song, I usually end up putting on the whole thing.
Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)
Cash rules everything around me
I used to always listen to this while doing assignments. Only problem is, it's so intense that I soon forgot about anything else that I was doing.
|15||Townes Van Zandt|
The Late Great Townes Van Zandt
This guy needs more love on this site. A wonderful folk/country hybrid with a bit of blues tossed into the mix.
|16||maudlin of the Well|
It's been a while since I've listened to this, but it's still amazing.
Choirs Of The Eye
It's a mystery to me how an album such as this can be so good. It just works somehow.
(What's The Story) Morning Glory
Such a great rock album, Some Might Say remains one of my favorite songs ever.
Tonight's The Night
Really dark, and really awesome.
KID A is great as well, but I think this comes out on top.
|1,2,14,16,17,20 are all superb.|
15 seems to be inteersting...will give it a listen .
14 is beyond music, other arvo part compositions are unbelievably intense too.
|Man, 1, 8, 9, 11, 12 and 20 are all great stuff.|
11 and 12 in particular are tied for my favourite album.
|Not that the rest suck mind you, I just haven't heard some of the others and I probably should.|
|2 is horrible in my opinion. i hate it.|
|Ugh, you'll fit right in.|
|17 might be the best album ever made. Well done.|
|sputnik clearly has warped your taste|
|2 and 6 suck. Rest is pretty cool esp. 1 and 16.|
|It's just an opinion ! come on !
|relativeworld - I haven't actually listened to any of his other stuff, but if it's anything near as good as Tabula Rasa then I'm sure that I'd love it. I'll have to look into it for sure.|
|Lots of great stuff - Springsteen, Dylan, Wilco, Neil Young - and fantastic pick with Townes Van Zandt. Sorely overlooked here and everywhere!|
|Thanks, Townes truly is fantastic.|
|Damn god stuff. |
