Sellouts!

Here's a list I'm sure everyone will agree with. The question is not whether these arists really sold out, but just what they've been accused of during their careers. Artists are ranked in some vague fashion from soul-sellers to mere money-grabbers.
1U2
Bono's ego, that whole Zooropa/Pop thing, or whatever they're doing right this minute.

These reason columns never show up for me so who cares what goes here.
2Metallica
A ballad (Fade To Black), music video for One, the black album, cutting their hair, etc.

We will never do a video, we will never sell out. Fuck MTV.
3Green Day
Playing poppier punk than other bands in Berkeley, writing "Good Riddance," bashing Bush for fun and

I don't wanna be an American idiot, yet I failed to show any intelligence at all.
4Bob Dylan
Playing electric guitar at Newport.

you are a monster sir
5KISS
The only band here whose goal from day one was to sell out. And boy it sure worked!

rock n roll
6The Offspring
I have no idea what they did but I guess they weren't always this popular.

la la laalalalaal la la la
7Journey
Going from a spacey jazz rock band to a power ballad powerhouse with new frontman Steve Perry.

wheel in da sky keep on turnin
8REM
Shiny Happy People was a song whose time had come.

look at me i'm michael stipe and i cant dance lmao
9Aerosmith
Cookie-cutter power ballads like "Crazy" and "Cryin" or whatever had Alicia Silverstone and Liv Tyle

wahhhh dont wanna miss a thing
10Husker Du/The Replacements
Signed to major labels, prompting indie fans to avoid them like a mother bird whose baby you touched

i like these bands a lot
